Senior: I came to CK during the pandemic. It obviously was not a traditional experience, however, comparatively, the school's response to the pandemic in ensuring the best possible education was provided to their students was definitely exceptional. With the amazingly breathtaking campus, CK has the facilities and resources like no other high school that students have the full advantage of utilizing. Students had the opportunity to return to campus for in-person learning a lot sooner the other schools due to the spacing available. Middle School Student: This is my second year in Liggett and I have had an amazing time. With all the great people I’ve met. The teachers are really nice. You will always find help when you need it. There are many activities to do outside of school as well. This goes along with sports, robotics, theater/acting and all kinds of other enjoyable events offered here. Lunch is provided each and everyday and the food is great. Learning is not rushed so you can be sure to understand everything that you are taught. There are several different electives to choose from. Also, Liggett includes the whole family. They host events that anybody can join in on. Sometimes there are events to introduce new families. There has been auctions, fundraisers, and fun events hosted by the school to raise money. Either way you should always know that you will have a great time at Liggett. Go Knights!... Freshman: I absolutely love Academy of the Sacred Heart! It is a small community and it offers so many opportunities for students to volunteer in the community. We take annual mission trips across the world that exposes us the many people, cultures and traditions. I love the block schedule of classes. It is preparing me for college. The school offers a great way of how technology is integrated into our curriculum. Our teachers care about our education and they ensure that we get the most out of their classes. They make themselves available to all students. I would love for the school to be exposed to a more diverse student population and I believe that the school is striving towards that goal. There are many opportunities that we serve in the community by participating in our bi-weekly service appointments. I have had the opportunity to work in soup kitchens where I am feeding the hungry. Parent: Walking into AHCS, you can immediately feel a difference from other private schools. We transferred from a local Christian private school seeking a TRUE Christian environment with high academic standards, educators who instructed to rigorous and relevant curriculum, and a setting that required our students to meet the high expectations, as well as an environment that fosters and meets the needs of each student. We have found everything we desired in a school for our children. The staff is caring, helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. Conflicts or issues, especially between students, are resolved immediately, the curriculum is rigorous and relevant, and the educators are caring and knowledgeable. Senior: The Shrine community is unlike any other. Since the school is PreK through 12th grade, many of the older students are able to create bonds with the younger children. The facilities are not the greatest, but it is because the school has been around for many years, so the facilities are historical to the school's culture. Parent: We have been so blessed that our kids have been able to go to Oakland Christian School! We have been there for 12 years so have been around awhile. We love the small class sizes, the caring teachers, the challenging curriculum, the many activities offered, and especially the Christ centered focus. We have 3 boys so had to have a school that also offered sports. They offer many different sports and are actually pretty competitive. Our oldest graduated from OCS last year and was very well prepared for college. He was prepared both academically and spiritually. You can get good academics at many different schools, but the Christ centered focus taught at Oakland Christian is tough to beat. Senior: Bethany Christian School has a great environment for kids of all ages. It is a K-12 school, with teachers who care about every student. The staff is very friendly and make every effort to get to know their students and be involved in their student's lives. The music program is amazing. Bethany has several programs of music, and has won several awards. Also, graduates who start college are very prepared. The classes at Bethany are hard, but rewarding. Senior: Bishop Foley was an experience of a life time! I am about to graduate and I have truly loved and valued my time as a Venture. From Friday night football games, to after school clubs, to dedicated teachers, you are getting a truly unique experience in Bishop Foley Catholic! My favorite part about the Foley family was how close I became with my classmates and teachers over the course of 4 years. I truly believe that I would not get this at any other high school. Now why did I give this 4 stars instead of 5 stars? That's due to the somewhat lack of opportunities that a bigger school could offer instead. For example, I am a senior now and I feel like I ran out of AP classes to take by my senior year, where this would not be a problem at a larger school. Senior: I have attended Parkway Christian since I was a Freshman in high school. They made the transition to a new school way easier by having a new student orientation where current students went to it and go to know you. This helped because I went into high school knowing a few kids. I also really enjoy the small class sizes because the teachers can pay closer attention to you and your needs. Also, they keep Christianity at a forefront and tie it into our everyday lives. They offer a variety of honors and AP classes. I am grateful for AP classes because now I am walking into college with credits. The teachers at Parkway truly care for you and would do anything you needed to help. Junior: Northwest has proved to be the best decision I could have made when choosing a high school. It’s hard to describe just how impactful attending Northwest has been for me. Teachers are exceptionally dedicated and passionate about their jobs. Academics are very strong and flexible—they’ll meet you wherever you’re at academically and provide you with the classes and practice you individually need to learn. Sport teams have fantastic support for the size of the school. I think most importantly, Northwest has provided me with incredible theological guidance. Senior: I loved my experience all four years at Regina. The sisterhood I was able to be apart of was so loving and I have made so many close friends throughout the years. There are so many clubs and sport to participate in and the experience I received from playing Powderpuff was something unreal. It was one of the best experiences I was able to be apart of and would never have had if I didn’t attend Regina. Although it is an all-girls, Catholic school, I wouldn’t trade going here for anything else. Being able to grow with my sisters and grow in the faith is something I could only obtain here. The academics are amazing and I’ve had many AP and honors classes offered. I’ve had a lot of academic help and help for my future. Senior: My experience with Stevenson was pretty great overall. I was only there for half a day as I am also a student at UCMST, but it was still enjoyable regardless. I enjoyed the wide range of classes that we were offered as students and the flexibility I had in scheduling. As an MST student, it is often difficult for us to get all the requirements we need for graduation because of the additional requirements we have at MST, but my counselor was very patient and helped me get out of certain requirements by utilizing my MST credits. I also enjoyed the wide range of clubs our school had to offer; there truly is something for everyone. The one thing I will say is that I found that the school culture is somewhat iffy; we do have lots of spirit events but the majority of students are very apathetic about our school, so it's always the same group of kids who go.
