Sophomore: I'm in my 5th year at Haynes and I love it! The teachers genuinely care and form real connections with their students. The work is hard, but it really does prepare us for college and exam season. Our school offers many AP and College-level courses, like engineering through LSU curriculum. Academic clubs, like mock trials and academic games, and STUCO are the only clubs that are really active by the second semester. If you are like me and don't like academic clubs, then there aren't many opportunities to bulk up your college resume. Senior: Jesuit is a school that demands excellence out of its students from day one. Because of these high expectations, the work load is something that every student has to adjust to fairly quickly to avoid falling behind. What I most appreciate about attending Jesuit High School is that this school taught me more than just lessons in the classroom. I was able to learn great organizational and time management skills. I also learned how to meet new people everyday since the average class size is about 250. What I would change about Jesuit is the lack of opportunity for students to express themselves at school. A lot of schools have a uniform, this is not what I am referring to. Senior: Mount Carmel is such an amazing school. The environment is extremely inclusive and loving. I know that I am truly cared about at the school. Parent: This is a wonderful school. The teachers are second to none. My children have attended for several years and we would not move them anywhere else. The teachers have been very responsive, their education is way ahead of target. The teachers do more with less. They are extremely engaging and creative. My kids love school. There could always be more diversity. The children are all taught to be kind from a young age and socially rewarded for that kindness and this shows in their interactions. The teachers 100% care about each child. They are fun and fresh with the children. The administration has always been responsive. I would not have my children anywhere else. They absolutely deserve their blue star status. Senior: I have been with Holycross since 5th grade, through those early years in middle school I believed that this was the best school ever. The school atmosphere was great the teachers really care for you when you are there, they want you to succeed and make it to the next year. The seniors were great at leading the school and getting all of us excited. Senior: My first year in Lutheran High school was during Covid and it was in person learning instead of online but the teachers and staff did everything in their power to maintain a safe environment for the students while giving us a the opportunity to experience the high school year. The teachers are very easy to talk to and very helpful, if I ever needed help with anything the teachers were very welcoming and open to hear what I had to say and talk to me about it. Throughout my junior year (my first year there) I got to know all the teachers and I could tell that they understood our struggles during the pandemic so they made days where we would play games and come to school wearing pajama, they would also give us activities in class so we wouldn't be stressed out about classwork and homework. This is my second year at Lutheran High School and my last year here as well and I am glad to say that I will be graduating here as a senior.
