Senior: Going to this school has honestly been a life-changing experience for me. They stayed true to their word when they said it would be a lot of work, but it allowed me to experience learning at a college level early, further preparing me for college life way more than other high schools could. And as an incoming senior, I am on my way to obtaining my associates degree in the spring of 2023! With how small the school is, the support system is phenomenal as well. But along with the early college experience, with this school being a “magnet school” I didn’t know at least 80% of the people in my class my freshman year. This gave me a chance to truly find my identity, something that I believe that a typical high school couldn’t have done. I definitely made the right decision to go to this school.... Read 97 reviews

Junior: I loved the faculty and staff at this school! The teachers are super nice and very helpful whenever I’m struggling. I feel like I’m at home when I’m at this school and I’m able to make a lot of friends easily. I also love how I’m able to be present in chapel once a week so I can glorify God in all that I do. However, one thing that I would like to change about this school is the uniform. We aren’t allowed to wear our letter jackets in school at all, even in the winter. And we aren’t allowed to wear any Concordia related sweatshirts either. It makes it a bit difficult to learn when I don’t have a warm sweater to be in when it’s the winter time.... Read 199 reviews

Parent: As the parent of two children in the lower school, I am extremely pleased with SSSAS. The Early Saints teachers make each day engaging for my 3-year-old. The monthly units the ES learn have prompted my son to apply what he’s learned to the world around him (the food unit they completed prompts a nightly discussion about which foods on his plate are muscle foods, brain foods, etc.). His teachers started a recent parent conference with 3 very specific adjectives to describe my son and given the examples they gave me, it is clear that really understand him as a whole child. My experiences with JK and K were also nothing short of fantastic; even during the pandemic the teachers were able to connect with my son. The K and 1st grade teachers have also provided my son a solid educational foundation; they have identified his strengths and given additional challenging work so that he hasn’t been bored. Any issues I’ve had have been quickly and appropriately addressed by his teachers.... Read 132 reviews

Senior: Hey Guys and Gals, although I am a high school senior this my first year being a panther. So far my experience has been great with the faculty, my peers, and my teachers. Since I am all virtual I usually have quite a few technology problems, but the main office and others are always quick to my aid. When I am having trouble on a particular task my teachers are quick to reexplain the question and If I am still not getting they go through the question with me. The teachers also do a great job of checking up on the students and offer a lot of 1 to 1 help. My peers have helped me adjust to Snider in many ways. Many have welcomed me in open arms. Even though we are all virtual that doesn't keep us from conversating and helping each other out with questions we may have. If we can't figure the problem out in our breakout rooms than we can always count on the teacher to help us out! The panther community is great!... Read 261 reviews

Alum: Bruin culture is real! The school did a really good job on wanting students to feel included and a part of the school with various school wide activities/events. The staff are dedicated to making sure students will pass their classes and leave the school knowing they’re capable of doing whatever they desire. Guidance staff are full of wonderful people who truly care about each and every student they come in contact with! Senior teachers especially are the ones to push students to graduate. School food offers a large variety of options, even lost COVID. The newly renovated gym is wonderful. Performing arts wings are incredible. Great public school and great representation of FWCS!... Alum: I was a student here from 2005-2011. In the span of those six school years, I acquired some of the fondest memories of my childhood. All of the teachers and administrators loved me, though they were stern with me when necessary. I had a lot of anger and control issues back then, given that I had yet to understand my autism and how it affected me. But I eventually grew to accept it and control my temper, thanks in large part to my teachers, who also instilled in me the love of learning that I carry today.... Read 1 review

Parent: I graduated from NHHS in 1999. I went to a large In-State University and was well prepared academically. My one complaint about the school at that time is that I have come to feel as an adult that I had been sheltered somewhat from the broader community. My kids are currently working their way through the New Haven schools and I am ecstatic with the quality of teachers, the opportunities for various extracurricular opportunities and the diversity that these schools now offer. I have never been prouder of our community or our schools. There is always room for improvement, and I am currently trying to find ways in which I can help support the efforts of the administration, teachers, NHHS staff and the other volunteers already working hard towards improvements. Taxes and capital improvements are important, but the New Haven community engaging in the process is essential.... Read 139 reviews

Parent: This school has turned the corner in the last year and is really starting run smoothly! Administration team is in their second year together and works hard with staff to continue to improve instruction, parent participation and student relationships. Students and staff are buying in to the change to a culture of mutual respect, high work ethic, high character and learning to be a voice in the local community. The band program, although hindered by overall funding, is still the best in NE Indiana...very high quality musicians that include two time defending state Champion Wildsiders jazz band. Athletic teams have not been good for a few years but are improving with new coaches and still getting students scholarships for the next level. Senior: When I was younger, school was a source of confidence. I felt like I was good at it and could end the day feeling accomplished. As I got older, that changed. School became frustrating. It began to make me feel badly about myself. This was so discouraging and degrading. I started not wanting to go to school, not wanting to even try. My sophomore year I knew things had to change if I wanted to have a good future and go to a good college. We found Cortona Academy and, honestly, my life changed! Cortona Academy made me feel good about learning again and helped build-up my confidence. They made school less frustrating, making sure I understood something before moving on, making certain I had a strong foundation and could successfully tackle any subject put in my path. Cortona Academy helped bring up my GPA and, most importantly, helped me feel ready for college. I no longer feel discouraged; I no longer feel like I can't. Cortona Academy has shown me that I “can,” no matter what.... Read 24 reviews
