Parent: All community members from Blue Ridge School are nice. Blue Ridge School activities, particularly the ROPEs Trip every year, can push students limit. Faculty members are friendly to motivate student on academic subjects. School offers a variety of off-campus activities to fully maximize students' experience. School efforts to build the campus with Safe, Community and Inclusive culture is attractive to both students and their family. Junior: My experience at the Academy of the Holy Cross is, that I came as a transfer into my junior year. The Academy was very welcoming, and though it was my first year I felt that after a few months I had already known everybody. The teachers are kind and outgoing, especially the social studies department! Now, the sports are also quite good, everyone on the teams are not only experienced, but determined to be the best. Also, the volleyball team is one of the best I’ve ever seen, and the coaches are really one of a kind! Now, the music and arts, there are many options and opportunities, and honor societies that are related to not only other departments, but the arts departments as well, that are welcome for everyone to join! Also, I would recommend taking a dance class, the dance teacher is one of the best teachers there, regardless if you don’t take one of her classes, like I don’t. Parent: Both of our kids started at The New School in ninth grade, after eight years of public school. It was one of the best parenting decisions we've ever made. Everything about this school is terrific. The teachers are passionate, inspired, and inspiring. Small, topics-driven, seminar-style classes foster creativity and independent thinking, while the welcoming atmosphere makes everyone feel at home. Our two kids turned out to be very different kinds of learners, but both thrived at The New School.
