Parent: Cheverus High School is an excellent college preparatory high school. My children were well prepared to enter and excel in competitive colleges. CHS offers an excellent opportunity and balance for academic, athletic, and spiritual growth. Students are challenged and supported in a rigorous, yet loving environment. Teachers and staff are dedicated and always available for consultation from the classroom to the fields and beyond. Embracing the whole person, the entire Cheverus community passionately invests in the success and welfare of every student. As both a fortunate parent and faculty member of more than two decades, I have celebrated seeing students, who have remained grounded yet buoyed by their Cheverus educations, achieve local, national, and global success. The friendships and connections made as a Cheverus student very often last a lifetime and establish foundations of faith, patience, and perseverance. All of our lives will continue to be blessed well into the future.... Read 119 reviews

Junior: GWUOHS is a fantastic school! The teachers are supportive and always willing to help out students. Teachers provide all the materials and help needed for students that want it, but at the same time, they give independence to the student. From personal experience, I have always had attentive and very friendly teachers. The class connects allow for interactive learning and collaboration for classes and clubs. Clubs at GWUOHS are also a lot of fun and are primarily run by students. Students can start their own clubs with a teacher sponsor and structure them how they would like. In creating a club or being a leader in a club, teachers offer as much assistance as students want and are always there for advice and connecting students. GWUOHS also has opportunities to showcase leadership and skills to colleges through honor societies, student government, competitive scholarships, and more. I truly am lucky to attend GWUOHS and would not want to have my high school experience anywhere else!... Read 37 reviews

Alum: Overall head a normal high school experience. The school had lots of clubs and sports to be part of, that were also very active in the school as well. The school also held fun events during spirt week as well as around the holidays. A lot of the teachers were very kind and helpful weather it was with school related things or sports. A lot of the teachers even went out of their way to make connections with the students to help them learn. I had a lot of fun classes that I was still able to learn in. The teachers were even helpful when covid hit trying their best to make their classes fun and accommodating to us students. I overall had an amazing experience and would not change it.... Parent: I have been a parent here for 15 yrs. Both my children started here in Kindergarten. After graduation, my daughter was accepted at every college she applied to. She was very prepared for college - Deans List each time! My high school son has thrived here. His compassion & concern for his schoolmates is amazing. He has cousins and friends who attend public school - the difference is striking. He is mature beyond his peers (parents often tell me they see a difference). The small class sizes are fabulous. Teachers really know the students. No one falls behind as they are able to monitor everyone. Also, no discipline distractions - class time is class time! Sportsmanship is evident in the players & coaches. The teams have gone to the Championship several years in a row. Older players mentor the younger both on the field/court and off. GREAT school. Highly recommend it!... Read 10 reviews

Parent: St. Brigid School is excellent! Small class sizes allow for individual attention to students. Faith and values of kindness and service to others is prevalent in daily experiences. Teachers are very dedicated and encourage parent involvement and partnership to ensure students get the very best education possible. Academics are rigorous. Students are encouraged and supported to do their personal best. The curriculum is traditional. Tried and true stepping stones to success such as learning the foundations of math, writing and grammar, and a formal cursive handwriting are ongoing processes across all grades. Students are engaged in hands-on learning opportunities including STEM and art, rather than relying on a tablet or computer for the majority of classwork. All grades have 2 outside recesses each day! Students learn time management and practical skills like money management, cooking, and sewing. Graduates are abundantly prepared for any high school!... Read 1 review

Parent: Breakwater is such a unique and personalized learning experience. Our daughter is in the pre-school program and the level of engagement from the teachers in all classrooms is fantastic. The school's embrace of an inquiry based learning approach filters into the younger classrooms where students are encouraged to explore their interests, experiment with the environment around them and learn from their peers. Although covid restrictions have limited their interactions, I LOVE that they approach learning by also mixing different ages together so there can be peer mentor learning and teaching. It allows each child to learn how to learn and how to facilitate learning in others. Lastly, the school's embrace of the natural environment as a learning space allows for really rich experiences and I'm amazed at how tough all the kids are! They are ready for anything nature throws at them, rain or shine! There are so many learning spaces: makerspace, workshops, nature preserve.. they have it all.... Read 5 reviews

Parent: Levey Day School is a wonderful, small, values based Jewish school that gives my daughter the space to be who she is and gives her the tools to thrive and grow. Senior: When I was younger, school was a source of confidence. I felt like I was good at it and could end the day feeling accomplished. As I got older, that changed. School became frustrating. It began to make me feel badly about myself. This was so discouraging and degrading. I started not wanting to go to school, not wanting to even try. My sophomore year I knew things had to change if I wanted to have a good future and go to a good college. We found Cortona Academy and, honestly, my life changed! Cortona Academy made me feel good about learning again and helped build-up my confidence. They made school less frustrating, making sure I understood something before moving on, making certain I had a strong foundation and could successfully tackle any subject put in my path. Cortona Academy helped bring up my GPA and, most importantly, helped me feel ready for college. I no longer feel discouraged; I no longer feel like I can't. Cortona Academy has shown me that I “can,” no matter what.... Read 24 reviews

Parent: Both of our kids started at The New School in ninth grade, after eight years of public school. It was one of the best parenting decisions we've ever made. Everything about this school is terrific. The teachers are passionate, inspired, and inspiring. Small, topics-driven, seminar-style classes foster creativity and independent thinking, while the welcoming atmosphere makes everyone feel at home. Our two kids turned out to be very different kinds of learners, but both thrived at The New School. Our youngest graduates next year, and we'll be sad to think of not having that day-to-day connection. Can't say enough about this wonderful school!... Read 26 reviews
