#52 Best Public Elementary Schools in Florida
Parent: My daughter’s in 5th, Spanish Program and my son’s in 3rd, regular program. In the Spanish program, there is added pressure because they have additional classes that inevitably add to the work load, and they are an additional hour in school. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but when you’re taking about 6 to 11 year olds, it makes a difference. Because my son is in the regular program, and he doesn’t have the language content class, the workload is less. Like in any other school, there are pros and cons, so it’s a matter of figuring out early-on if your child fits the school or Visa versa. I will say, in my experience, I’ve seen a great growth with my daughter’s academics and feel she will excel in any magnet middle she’s accepted into. One thing that is amazing is the diversity of cultures you expose your child to in this school. Overall I am happy to be a part of Sunset and what’s most important to me is that my children are happy and proud to be a part in sunset.
