Parent: My husband and I wanted an inclusive school that would be an extension of our family, and we found that in the Burgundy Community. We made the decision to send my son to Burgundy in JK and looking back now as he is in the midst of 2nd grade, choosing Burgundy was the best decision. Burgundy is a nurturing community that fosters the whole child, ensuring life long learners. Burgundy leans into a child's individual character and ensures every child is heard and has a voice. My son loves Burgundy and is thriving. Alum: My overall experience at my high school was really good. I enjoyed being surrounded by teachers and administrators that cared a lot about our education and wanted to make sure that our entire class succeeded. I also enjoyed participating in school events such as spirit week, dress down days, and more. Even though I loved my high school, their are a few things that I would want to change. I would include more school counselors to be able to help more students at once. I would also want the teachers to give students more time to take notes and study in school especially before exams because a lot of students may need more help than others to complete their work and also for the students that play sports and need more time to gain information on what everyone is learning in school.... Sophomore: My time at Johne H. Bayne elementary was very fun and exciting. I loved every minute of it. My teachers were very determined to teach me and the rest of the students who attended and I was very eager to learn. Some classes were challenging but that was only because my teachers really pushed me to work harder than I did before. My principal really care about her students. She was compassionate and really wanted us to do something great with our lives. She made sure everyone was okay and was here for her students when something was bothering us. If we needed someone to talk to she was always around. If I could go back to elementary school and start over, I would. Those years were the best school experiences of my life and I really am thankful for every teacher, staff member, and student who made it that way.... Read 1 review
