Senior: The Oelwein High School has allowed for many great opportunities for its students, adding new programs not only in sports, but academically as well. The majority of students will be able to find classes to fit their needs, not only high school credit, but also college credit classes offered through the NICC RAMS center, where students from surrounding districts also attend with Oelwein students, with several Oelwein teachers being the professors for the classes allowing for easy communication. Even though our sports teams are not the best, the fans and support for the events has continued to rise as the programs begin to become better. The school allows a lot of freedoms to its students, such as open campus to seniors, coffee shop, different clubs and activities, and study tables.

Niche User: As with most high school it won’t fully prepare you for the collegiate experience. However my extracurricular activities were satisfactory and worth while. My music and drama involvement lead me to greatest people I continue to be friends with as of today in college.

West Central Charter High School

Senior: West Central Charter High School is absolutely amazing. Through the wonderful staff and students, high school is a breeze. The level of education taught here is outstanding. The staff try their hardest to teach us in a manor that will help us to understand. These staff members are also so patient and caring, which helps tremendously because as we all know, high school isnt easy. To top it off, West Central is a charter school, which allows students to take college classes from Northeast Iowa Community College. With these classes, a head-start can be made of our future dreams. We also get to learn some college readiness skills. West Central also does a good job at keeping students involved. This sometimes is difficult due to the fact that we are such a small school, but through sports, the arts programs, and some of the school clubs, the students can always find something to join.
