Alum: I went to RCHS for all four years of my high school experience. Olney is a small town, and RCHS is a small school. It is an old building and although the staff does its best to keep the school as nice as possible, it desperately needs updated. With that said, RCHS has some of the best, coolest teachers I've met. Out of all of my teachers throughout high school, there are only two that I remember disliking. The teachers and staff are always willing to help students succeed, and they pour their efforts into their teachings. As a student at RCHS, I felt like my teachers genuinely knew what they were teaching and cared about my success, and I believe that is very important to a high school experience.

Senior: Newton Community High School is a great school for being in a small, rural town. The teachers and staff are great and are always interested in pushing our education further than the classroom. I like small town theme of the school, but there are some downsides. For example we do not have many STEM related classes in the engineering or techical divisions. In the future, I hope that the administration institutes more classes for kids who are going into a field of study where more technical classes will be needed. My favorite part of the high school is the vocational classes that are still offered like Ag Science, Ag Power, and Automotive classes. Especially since Newton is such a small town, there are a lot of kids that love these classes and really help them in agricultural fields of study. This helps the small businesses and farms in the community to continue growing.
