Alum: There has definitely been many ups and downs about my high school. Going into my freshman year, they moved the 7th and 8th graders into the high school. The halls were crowded, we did not get lockers, they messed up schedules and put many people in the wrong class. I was super lucky to make it to class right when the bell rang and many students would agree with me. My sophomore year, we had construction going on so they could build onto and redo everything. Some of the students had to go out into the new class modules that they put in front of our school, during colder seasons was the hardest. We would have to walk outside in the snow just to go to class. When construction was happening, it was harder to learn due to the drilling noises in the rooms next to us. It was very hard to concentrate. We also never had air conditioning for all 4 years. There has been many downs but I would never change a thing. Those 4 years were the best years of my life and I am truly going to miss it.

Wapakoneta High School
#333 Best Public High Schools in Ohio
- Wapakoneta City School District, OH
- Rating 3.71 out of 5 99 reviews
Senior: Wapakoneta has a very well developed system for struggling students and has some options for the more advanced students. For how large the school is, the school does very well at serving disabled and disadvantaged students. I would have liked to have more options and guidance on how to achieve the advanced options that are offered. Guidance Councilors are more concerned with either taking a break or helping disadvantaged students than helping the more advanced students take advantage of what they can while they are in high school and preparing themselves for their futures in college.

Alum: I liked how involved and diligent the teachers were. I definitely think that despite it not being a larger school with more resources and diversity that it was the best academic and spiritual education I had available to me. I wish the school had more clubs/after school activities but being as small as it is that is hard to do.
