Senior: My high school experience was very positive. I would say Woodstock High School is surrounded by a great community, filled with people who are willing to contribute in ways they can. The school itself is old, but in a more positive way, historic. There are memories pasted on the walls throughout the whole building, remembering those that have made their mark at the school in the past. From hands pasted on the walls in paint from graduating classes, to banners hanging on the upper track from sports wins, to faces and names documented on the walls outside the gym of those that made a difference. Woodstock High School is historic, it is safe, and it is welcoming...Read 164 Reviews

Parent: Amazing! Marian Central Catholic High School far outweighs any public school by far. From the college preparatory curriculum, sports and activities to the top knowledge faith-based loving community, we would not send our children any where else. The scholarship opportunities alone are 10 x greater than the local public schools. At Marian Central, you are treated like family from start to finish. Also, a 100% graduation rate is fantastic! We love MCCHS...Read 184 Reviews

Alum: My overall experience at my high school was really good. I enjoyed being surrounded by teachers and administrators that cared a lot about our education and wanted to make sure that our entire class succeeded. I also enjoyed participating in school events such as spirit week, dress down days, and more. Even though I loved my high school, their are a few things that I would want to change. I would include more school counselors to be able to help more students at once. I would also want the teachers to give students more time to take notes and study in school especially before exams because a lot of students may need more help than others to complete their work and also for the students that play sports and need more time to gain information on what everyone is learning in school...Read 151 Reviews

Senior: My time playing sports here was my favorite part of going to this school. In football, we were very successful during my 2 years in Varsity and had very fond memories. I like how this school is small and you know almost everyone you see. The teachers here were kind and helpful and always were involved in school activities. They essentially went the extra mile each and every event. Most people here are hard-working and we have a lot of intelligent people. Although our baseball team was not the best, I still had lots of fun playing the sport for the first time because I had friends I could rely on...Read 182 Reviews

Parent: Brought my child to St. Thomas after the public school he were attending started to go downhill. At St. Thomas my child got the individual attention he needed and has been a successful student ever since. We love all of the opportunities we have to get involved as parents! You can give as little or as much time as you want to give, which is awesome! The new administration is working hard to clear up issues that the old administration left behind, so the culture is changing from what some earlier reviewers left. We love the fact that students can start band in 4th grade and sports in 5th. And faith plays a huge part in everyday life at St. Thomas. My child loves this school and has made lifelong freinds here. I highly recommend St. Thomas School!...Read 16 Reviews

Parent: We have had nothing but positive experiences here from day one of preschool. Everyone (teachers, staff, and fellow parents) genuinely care about my kids and go above and beyond what is expected in a school setting. This is so important when sending little ones off to school for most of the day! I know they are safe and loved all day long. Besides getting a top notch academic education, they learn about Jesus through out the day, everyday. They put Christ at the center of everything that they do. It warms my heart how they are taught to serve others, give back to their community, and spread God's love. It is the combination of all these things that set this school apart from all others. You just won't get that kind of experience anywhere else. A couple other bonuses include - great hot lunch program, amazing music program, and an in house "Immanuel Care" that provides before and after school care as needed...Read 4 Reviews

Alum: I recommended Immanuel Lutheran School to everyone who wants a quality education and opportunities to learn and grow in Christ. I attended Immanuel from 1995-2005 and am so thankful for my years there. It gave me the tools and skills I needed to be successful in life. The friendships I made during my time at Immanuel are still strong today, after 20+ years. The staff is dedicated to the growth of the minds and hearts of students. I remember some of my favorite memories of Immanuel came from service learning experiences such as the Kindergarten Buddy Program and a mission trip to West Virginia. The skills I learned from Immanuel lead to success in high school and beyond. Immanuel is not only a school, but also an entire community, which has been an instrumental part of my life and will continue to be my main support system for many years to come!...Read 6 Reviews

Parent: My kids have been attending Basis since before the pandemic, and we are so impressed! Rich academic curriculum, good inclusion of the arts, excellent opportunity for differentiation based on student needs. The teachers are dedicated and so are the parents to the kids' success. While the administration has been bumpy as the school has gotten established (only 5 years old), they earned their stripes during the pandemic. Organized, safety-focused and diligent about communication. We supplement school with sports leagues and scouting outside of school, which many parents do. Easy to do given the extensive choice you have in the DC area. Also appreciate the international study body with impressively bright students from all over the world. A real meritocracy, unlike other private schools that admit based on VIP status or connections/donations. In the next few years, this school will only continue to advance its place in the rankings...Read 43 Reviews
