Parent: My son is truly happy at Oxford Academy. Academically is it a dream! His teachers challenge him but are willing to slow things down if it appears he is struggling (you won't find that in a traditional school). This can allow for extra review in an area so that the concepts become clearer before moving on (that is key to a student with ADHD). The parent portal is excellent with weekly reviews and term reports. Each teacher explains (in detail) what is involved with the day-to-day class time explaining what they worked on and how they approached solutions to help the student understand and be successful. Being that the ratio is 1:1 students are 100% accountable so there's no excuse for not understanding what's expected. The standards are high, consistent and fair. The staff is like family and I have no doubt that they care for my son.... Read 6 reviews

Senior: Old Saybrook Senior High School is filled with different learning opportunities; it allows students to dive deeper within their passions, and work on their weaknesses. The teachers inspire their students to do their best by demonstrating support beyond the necessary. In the three years, I have attended, I have not only gained more knowledge in educational classes but have also learned the importance of leadership and empathy through their care and class assemblies. Old Saybrook High School creates an environment that allows students to individually grow their character and knowledge while also introducing them to the challenges of the future.... Parent: I am a former Cold Spring parent with three (very different) children who attended this wonderful school. Cold Spring gave my children so many gifts, among them: love of learning, a strong academic foundation, social and emotional awareness, especially kindness and empathy. They thrived at Cold Spring. Now that they are in college, high school and middle-school, I clearly see where their Cold Spring experience reaps dividends. They love to learn and work hard --not just for a grade but for the fulfillment of gaining new knowledge. They get along well with their classmates and know how to approach teachers for help. They are kind and resilient. I attribute these wonderful qualities to their Cold Spring days when they were guided by the amazing, talented CSS teachers to seek out knowledge with joy, work cooperatively and independently, and discover what riches come from positive effort.... Middle School Student: I am a current 8th-grade student here, I joined in 7th grade after covid hit, and it's safe to say it was the best decision of my life. I have made so many wonderful friends and I am very sad to leave them and start my high school career. I would 100% recommend this school to any parent looking for a school for their child. You could join in 8th grade and still feel like you have known these people all your life. I am very grateful for this experience and I am very sad it is coming to an end so soon. We are leaving for the 8th grade Utah trip on May 31st, which will be my last day at this school except for graduation. I will most definitely cry. Love this school!... Read 27 reviews

Parent: The teachers love and respect the students. The personalized attention to each student is exceptional, as is the communication with parents. High School Senior: Because the average class size is three people, students from all grades become close, almost like family. The small size enables more student teacher interaction, and the teachers always make time to help the students if need be. Everyone is friendly and caring. However, the small number of students also makes the amount of possible extracurricular programs limited (ex: a soccer team that needs 11 players).... Read 4 reviews

Parent: Having 3 children who attended Christchurch School, we couldn’t be more pleased with the education they received. The faculty and staff work together in support of the integrated curriculum which prepares students to be not only successful in the classroom, but also instills life lessons, preparing them to successful members within their community. We highly recommend Christchurch School!... Read 67 reviews

Parent: I can't say enough good things about the teachers at St. Anne's-Belfield. My child lost a lot of ground learning virtually in public school during the pandemic. His teachers at St. Anne's have gone the extra mile to catch him up without making him feel bad (or even letting on that he's behind). Really love that he has access to learning resource specialists and the school counselor. Can't speak to athletics as he's more of a CS nerd (and the program is amazing btw!), but I understand they are stellar if that's your kids' thing. As with all private schools, I wish it were more diverse, but the school does a good job being intentional about diversity and inclusion so kids are aware and prepared to interact with people of all backgrounds and cultures, even if they don't see a lot on a daily basis....
