Parent: I love the teachers, I love the curriculum, and I love that teachers notice/pay attention to when a child needs more of a challenge in regards to what they're learning. My only complaint would be that the staff as a whole don't take complaints of bullying seriously enough. My kids have told me numerous times that another child physically hurt and/or verbally harassed them, yet when they told an adult, all the adult did was either tell the child "that wasn't nice, don't do that again", OR they didn't say anything at all, OR they told my child to "stop tattling." I feel those situations need to be taken way more seriously, with an actual punishment/stricter discipline as the outcome. Alum: During my time at Dubois Area High School.l, I received an education that was personalized to my skills/strengths. At my previous high school, I found that the majority of my teachers’ focal points in the education system were to help us pass, not learn. While at Dubois, the situation was exactly the opposite. Senior: Jefferson County Dubois Area Vocational Technical School also known as Jeff Tech is the best high school. This is my fourth year at Jefferson County Dubois Area Technical School. I have to say that this is the best high ever because you will a career after you graduate. The teachers and facilities and staff is the best. Senior: Dubois Christian schools is a great school if you are interested in sending your child to learn about God and excel in their school work. It has a small class atmosphere which in some cases may have good and bad advantages. The teachers are really nice and understanding. There has been many changes to the school property in the past few years. We recently got out gym renovated with a nice wooden floor. We also have updated security and safety issues. We improved our technology system as well this past year. They have pretty good activities to do. You can either do basketball or soccer for sports. In the arts you can take an art class or do choir or both! I sometimes wished that there were more kids in the secondary classes but it was overall really good. It’s a non profit organization.
