Senior: Paul D. Schreiber High school has been my home for the past 4 years and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Ever since freshman year the staff at Schreiber has set me on a path for success and allowed me to explore my interests as a young adult. The programs that they offer are outstanding whether it’s our inclusive and growing Drama Club to our award winning and county competing sports teams. My teachers have been understanding and supportive throughout all my years and always offer after-class extra help no matter the circumstances. Our school has tons of school spirit too! Every semester we have our own spirit week, showing off our school pride with fun costumes with themes for everyday day of the week. Our school holds us to high standards when it come to our Academics, but I feel as though that pressure helped plenty of us to truly strive for excellence as we think about and apply to our top colleges.... Junior: North Shore Hebrew Academy has made my high school experience one that I will never forget. There is such great diversity, with students coming from several different communities, and yet there is such a strong sense of unity among us. When I first began high school, I was nervous that it would be difficult both socially and academically, but I was relieved to find myself in a warm and welcoming environment. North Shore offers endless clubs and ways to be a part of this school and I am so glad I was able to involve myself in a series of extracurricular activities, each pertaining to my interests. In addition, I feel that my teachers here at North Shore truly have my best interests at heart and that each of them is dedicated to challenging their students in a productive and intellectual manner. Parent: I have 3 children at SSLI. My children have all attended since Kindergarten. One is in elementary school, one is in middle school, and, one is in high school. I love the school. The class sizes are small and the teachers truly care about the students' well-being: academically; socially; and, emotionally. The teachers are all approachable. If a student needs extra help in a subject, it is provided. Also, the teachers regularly communicate with the parents. In addition to an excellent secular academic program and Jewish Studies program, the students are taught personal responsibility, accountability, compassion, and kindness. Senior: Chaminade High School is a Catholic school in Mineola, New York. It is a very prestigious school that offers many activities and athletics to add on to the experience. I feel it is one of the top schools in the country as it has a educational building, a unique science building, a three floor gym, and an amazing athletic center. Their is also a retreat house for religious purposes. Their is a total of 5 buildings on this high school campus and they are adding more! Parent: Our family has two children at Green Vale. Both of them started at the very beginning in pre-nursery at age two. The early childhood program provides loving, nurturing and engaging education and childcare. Both of our children love going to school each day. They are excited to learn from their teachers and play with their friends. As a parent, I love the open dialogue that I have with my children's teachers and with fellow parents. Parent: We love Notre Dame! We transferred our daughters to Notre Dame from the local public school when they were midway through 5th grade. It was the best decision we’ve ever made for our girls (they are now in 8th grade at Notre Dame). The academics are excellent and the options in taking languages, having a video conferencing room, having their own video news reports, afterschool classes, sports, STREAM program, etc. made their experience so much more academically and socially enriching than what they had previously! The administration, faculty and staff at Notre Dame are so caring and supportive. “The Notre Dame Family” environment is truly a gift that never stops giving. Senior: Honestly to start off the Academy is one of the cleanest schools out there as well as one of the safest. It provides a great, healthy learning environment to all its students. The school also does a great job at keeping their parents up to date with all the school's activities as well as the latest news or adjustments. Sports and clubs are also very inclusive of everybody. Alum: My time at Holy Child was very nice. Solid academics, great atmosphere, and nice selection of after school activities. Because the classes are so small, the kids can really bond with each other, and make strong relationships. Maybe it’s just because i had great people in my grade, but i would say overall it is a very welcoming school. There are some problems with favoritism, and whoever donates more money gets more leeway, which needs to be worked on. The music teacher is really nasty, but i think he’s been fired.
