Niche User: It was my experience that teachers and other faculty were caring individuals whos focus was of the betterment of students who strived to better themselves however it was also my experience that teachers lacked the equality of students as a whole and those students involved in athletics were favored towards as sports seemed to be more important as a whole rather than education and disipline. Diversity was at a moderate level also and again it was my belief along with most other students that the level of diversity applied to the individual student , their economic level and whether or not they were involved in athletics. Although my staments here may have seemed somewhat derogatory , Centralia High School was a milestone in my life that I will never forget and am proud to have had the privilege of attending there. A special thank you to the teachers and other staff and my fellow classmates.... Read 37 reviews

Senior: From the outside we might look like a cult. Many times we have outdoor events. Driving in the country on a well used highway and seeing a bunch of kids run around wearing the same thing or walk the square can seem a little unsettling. But, we are the farthest thing from a cult. We choose. Who we want to be. What we want to do. Our teachers are great teachers, unbiased and willing to help. I struggle junior year solely due to the curriculums but when I say these teachers picked me up I MEAN IT! The students are super chill as well. Coming from all different backgrounds. I think that’s what makes me most proud of Sunnydale. We appreciate each other’s cultures with no discrimination. I mean, racists are the minority at our school. And so far, I have only seen 1 or 2, maybe it’s because we’re in the country side I don’t know. Check out Sunnydale, we’re thriving and very spontaneous. Our schedule changes so much. :) Shaka... Parent: My husband and I wanted an inclusive school that would be an extension of our family, and we found that in the Burgundy Community. We made the decision to send my son to Burgundy in JK and looking back now as he is in the midst of 2nd grade, choosing Burgundy was the best decision. Burgundy is a nurturing community that fosters the whole child, ensuring life long learners. Burgundy leans into a child's individual character and ensures every child is heard and has a voice. My son loves Burgundy and is thriving. I know without a doubt that Burgundy will lay the foundation for my son's continued success, not only in his future academic pursuits, but in life as a whole!... Read 10 reviews

Senior: Sturgeon Is a very small school in a small community, so if small communities are your thing then Sturgeon is perfect for you! Although with it being a small school there are some downfalls. For example, the limited class choices, the small programs available, and limited sport opportunities.... Read 17 reviews

Parent: i have two kids at TCS, now 7th and 8th grade, and both have been there since pre K. TCS offers a rigorous curriculum integrated into a unique, one of a kind in the area outdoor, adventure, and experiential education program. Experienced and dedicated teachers. Great facilities and equipment including outdoor gear and a second campus at the LaBarque conservation area. The adventure education experiences give students an unmatched sense of accomplishment in overcoming challenges of the outdoor, "real world" classroom. This prepared my kids to be leaders and face future challenges, both in education and in life, in a way that is just not possible with only teaching in the classroom. The outdoor classroom concept does amazing things. We love TCS!... Read 13 reviews

Parent: My daughter began attending St. Bernadette School in the 7th Grade following our move to Northern Virginia. We couldn't be more pleased with her experience. The teachers, staff, student and parents are dedicated, kind, and caring. They helped her transition to a rigorous Catholic education, including first-time instruction in religion, grammar, cursive, and Spanish. The school is part of a vibrant parish; the priests are about campus and in the classroom. St. Bernadette School is Catholic education at its best!... Read 34 reviews
