Senior: For many people, including myself, Grayslake Central High School is an incredible high school. Though our school only has about 1,300 students, our pride is that of 10,000. Myself and my peers have been blessed with a multitude of opportunities here including planning local parades, being published in news articles, being sponsored to compete in state and national competitions, and much more. GCHS continues to set the bar higher and higher every single year whether it be school spirit, being inclusive of minorities and cultures from around the world, or the safety of our students. In addition to that, Grayslake Central makes sure all students feel welcome by sponsoring clubs for just about everything, and even letting students create their own! Alum: The schedule for the time I was there wasn't very good for the students wellbeing, waking us up at six or earlier every day and then giving us a lot of homework to do in the evening. I've heard that the Schedule has changed to a later date due to some push from the teachers so I was happy to hear that. The teachers had their fair share of good and bad people, but I can note more awesome professors than I can otherwise, so pretty good on those regards. Campus security is pretty much everywhere and that has created a safe environment for students, so props for that. The extracurriculars were plentiful and the ones I were in were very fun and engaging. The cafeteria didn't have many options, but the ones they had were decently good for cafeteria food. I personally liked that they had a study room that you could go eat your lunch in quiet and do your homework so you didn't have to stay up as late doing it. Niche User: Fremont Middle school is the best school i have ever went to. The school has a elementary, intermediate, and a middle school. The teachers are kind, and the students there are very nice. The school is huge and it has a soccer field, and a playground. Fremont has its own bus barn which helps so that there are no bus delays. Overall would recommend.... Read 9 reviews

Alum: Westlake Christian Academy is not perfect--no school is, especially small private schools. Sure, they do not have as many AP classes or clubs as a public school, but that's what you would expect from such a small school. What differentiates Westlake is the people. Never have I had such a group of caring teachers or friends around me. Everyone there, student or faculty, truly cares about you and your education. Furthermore, the spiritual formation at the school is incredible. Westlake has helped me grow in my faith significantly, even though I was only there for a few short years. Additionally, there are benefits to going to a smaller school! Camaraderie within classes was wonderful, and even an average athlete can compete on multiple varsity sports teams. Even though it often gets a bad rep, I would hands down fully recommend Westlake to any parents or students looking for a quality education in a Christian environment; you won't find anywhere better!... Senior: Love this school, being a minority is scary but here I feel like a majority as the school consist of low income family students. Due to the low teacher to student ratio, students are able to build relationships with Teachers. We also have a work study program that allows us to have internships at a very young age giving us job/work experience before anyone else our age. With this we are bale to work in big corporations that allow us to network and learn whilst still having a rigorous coursework. Alum: Round Lake Senior High school brought out many educational opportunities and benefits towards many students. The school made sure everyone has equal opportunity to garner as much educational knowledge. The brand new building and tools and computers widened the the scope and possibility for better learning. Newer technology enabled better communication and better understanding among teachers, mentors, and students. Graduating from Round Lake Senior High school opened me up to new opportunity and new experiences otherwise not taught by any other school. This High school has improved greatly in terms of provision, and educational standard. The teachers and mentors places their students up to a high standard and teaches them the value of accountability in terms of studies. The Services provided by the school are intermediate and staff is very accommodating and helpful to students and parents alike. Parent: We currently have all three of our children enrolled at Frassati Catholic Academy. The teachers, administration, and staff have been outstanding since we started our journey in 2012. Everyone is very approachable and personable. My husband and I are pleased with the curriculum at all levels, providing the kids with the building blocks to create future habits, including organization skills, teamwork, time management, and excellent study practices. Kids have plenty of options to join both clubs and sports. These options offer the kids additional chances to learn how to work with others while having fun. The Frassati Family Association is a great group of parents that support the schools' mission and offer a variety of fun activities throughout the school year. The events offer families the opportunity to socialize while supporting the school. Parent: We were looking for an academically superior Catholic faith based school with a friendly environment that shared our family's values. We found that at Saint Francis de Sales school. The environment is very warm and friendly including both staff and other families. My children are eager to go to school every morning and never late because they are excited to get their- early! Parent: My oldest daughter started at SGS in preschool and is now an eighth graders. We love the school. The teachers are wonderful people and great examples for the kids to follow. It has a real community feel and folks get to know each other and help each other out.
