Parent: I have 2 children at Morgan Park Academy in the Early Childhood program and we love it! My kids are engaged and challenged academically and are taught about kindness in a world that seems to have forgotten about it. Senior: Couldn't ask for a better high school experience. Every single teacher I had was extremely patient, enthusiastic, and overall just willing to work with the class. I know I can't speak for everyone, but this was at least my experience. Faith life is also very good, especially having the experience to go on Kairos and to school masses. The introduction to community period really helped me to stay a little more on top of my work, definitely helping with stress levels. Honestly, campus is extremely easy to navigate after a few days and although it isn't top tier facilities, everything gets the job done. I've been able to notice subtle improvements across the whole school throughout the time I've been there, so I know there are always going to be small improvements here and there to keep everything rolling smooth.... Alum: I really loved how McAuley created a community whose outreach had no bounds. Alum and current students are easily identifiable not just by the uniforms, but rather by the confidence and skills developed at this school. I credit McAuley to my faith in myself and my overall thirst for knowledge and equality. McAuley teaches you that you will never be alone no matter when or where you are as someone will always be there to find and guide you when you’re lost. Besides all of the community based accords, this school has some of the most dedicated and connected teachers who promote learning and fairness in and out of classrooms. Obviously as a liberal arts school they do very well in theater, musical, and art departments with several students and alum receiving awards and acclaim, but many sports programs are up to par as well. Junior: Overall, St. Laurence has been the best choice I have ever made. The teachers and faculty are so welcoming and friendly. Alum: My experience at A.B. Shepard High School was an amazing one. Senior: As a graduating senior at Southland College Prep High School, I can confidently say that my time here has been nothing short of outstanding. My school's lottery picked me, and I am eternally grateful. Tutoring and mentoring are only two of the many support services available to students at Southland. Students in Southland also have a lot of different opportunities. The number of honors and advanced placement options is significant, for instance. To counteract the school's strict adherence to the rules and its emphasis on academics, I think it should relax its grip on student-organized extracurricular activities. Aside from academics, high school should be a fun place to share memories with friends and try new things. Senior: My experience at Harold L. Richards High School is one of the best experiences that I have experienced. The teachers do their absolute best to help students with what they need. Richards also has teachers that take time out of their day to tutor students who are struggling during their lunch breaks. The classes are fun as well as educational. Richards shines best in their sports teams. The students want to try their best at Richards if it's at athletics or academics. Senior: My experience here at Dwight D Eisenhower has been a mix of stressful and fun. Of course transitioning into high school is a different feeling this school felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. The clubs this school has to offer also makes it fun. Clubs I’m in is student council, leo, fashion, and prom planning. A club i took my freshman year was speech club and this club made me express myself in ways I didn’t have the confidence to and I will forever thank this school for giving me that opportunity. I’ve grew a lot within my self mentally and physically. My freshman year i was timid but now as a senior and thanks to my school clubs I can now feel comfortable expressing how I’m feeling. However with tougher classes things have been stressful and how i cope with it is going to tutoring that my school provides for us. Parent: Hansberry is a good school. I love that we are like a family And that the classes are small. Hansberry academic wise is very good and my child being a student there has prepared her for college! Although the IB courses a rigorous, my child love the challenges! One thing I’d like to see change is the fighting amongst the students.
