Alum: The teachers are awesome and so approachable! You can reach out to them with questions about almost anything ranging from academics to outside resources. The facilities are also very nice; the students are basically welcome to use anything and all the projects are supported, as long as a loose set of rules are followed. The social aspect of the student body at the school, however, can be a little iffy because everyone has known each other for a really long time -- sometimes it can be difficult on new kids to join the community.... Parent: Caring teachers, lifelong friendships, challenging academics, and excellent athletics and arts programs! My wife and I couldn't be happier with the choice we made to enroll our kids at SLHS. They went to public school K-8 and we were pleasantly surprised by the warm and caring vibe from teachers, staff, and students alike at Shoreland. Our kids frequently say "thank you" to us for enrolling them here (what more could a parent want?). The school has really upped their game in the last couple of years, adding one of the best STEM programs in the state (with champion robotics teams), a great trades program, and an academically rigorous program overall. The student body is surprisingly diverse both in ethnicity and religious background. Their Wisconsin State Report Card "exceeds expectations." Senior: I absolutely love Walden. I’m not popular but the are all family. The middle schoolers haven’t gotten the grasp of that just yet but they will. The teachers are amazing and you are not just a number to them. They put time and effort into each student they have currently or formerly , until they graduate. Walden does have middle school sports and I feel that is a great thing because most of the high school students want to focus heavily on their studies. Our college readiness has changed because now we have programs for dual credit, and they are not easy. We have 5 professors currently teaching at our school. When you step into your college class you are no longer a high school student, you are a college student. I’ve personally taken 3 college classes. Senior: St. Joseph Catholic Academy is a highly educated high school for students who want to test themselves and succeed academically. The average about of students per grade is around 60 students. By being in a small class, I was able to get a 1 on 1 help with my teachers much easier. In my 4 years of being at this school, I have succeeded at the top of my class and was able to participate in multiple sports, clubs, and events that are given. Middle School Student: The school is great! This is a really good school for people who are looking to excel and do something in life. I wouldn't recommend this school to people who're just worried about their fashion and relationships. SOME teachers are nice and very helpful. Their response to student drama isn't really that good. But, they have some good qualities. Lockers could be updated and bathrooms, otherwise it's good to learn at. Also, sports are very costly, and you get nothing out of it so, consider that.... Parent: JLS is an excellent school with wonderful staff. They are an IB school; teaching our kids to be productive adults that will have the skills necessary for such a diverse world. The learning environment is structured and the teachers provide curriculum that strives for academic success. Yes, the area around the school is not the best but my children have been going here for years without any incidents or me worrying about their safety! I can't say enough good things about this school and only hope they consider expanding this school if possible. They only go to the 5th grade at this school before merging into the RUSD pit! Parent: My 1st daughter was there 6-12th grade shortly after opening, she struggled with math in elementary so once she started at the Real they caught her and she excelled. We both loved it, the teachers go out of there way to help both students and parents. I also like the fact it is smaller and you don’t have the big school problems, bullying is rare and when it does happen it is taken care of immediately. Everyone knows everyone at the school it’s nice to have that. My 2nd daughter is there now I’m 7th she started in 6th and the only problem with her is she is more athletic then the 1st daughter and they don’t offer enough athletic programs but otherwise no complaints about the school. Senior: My experience at Case High School has been a rollercoaster of emotions and events starting from freshman year to senior year. I not only made strong connections between teachers, but I also made strong friendships between many of my classmates. The teachers at this school, strive to teach students who are motivated and committed to graduate. The rules and policies enforced at the school are what any other school would have. Of course, no school is perfect, which is partly why I have rated this school a 4/5 stars. Every school has their flaws, whether that's with the system, students, teachers, etc. I will still say that my overall experience with Case High School has been unforgettable and quite enjoyable. Alum: My high school experience at Horlick High School was great. I loved many of my teachers and while not all of them were great, that is to be expected. I was able to make personal relationships with my teachers which helped me learn better. I was involved in Student Government, National Honor Society and Volleyball and I think the clubs and sports at Horlick exceed expectations. Parent: Fine Arts does a very good job creating an in-school creative culture with a positive vibe. When you walk in the doors, you know this is a creative place. Each year, each grade level performs a play that they work on throughout the year. By the time fifth grade rolls around, students are used to being on-stage, and have had exposure to creative movement classes, fine arts, performance arts, 3-D art and more. When you hear that so many classes are cutting the arts, this place stands out like a jewel.
