Parent: PDS is a diverse independent school with many great characteristics. The academics and curriculum are very thorough and definitely help students get ready for what comes next. This school also has many sports facilities that are utilized for skating, squash, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and hockey. The cafeteria, in the center of the building, holds a vast amount of people with booths and tables. The food, aside from being delicious, is organic and comes from the garden. There is additionally a chicken coop and garden classroom. Besides these, the school has a well developed art and music system. Alum: Wilberforce really embodies the meaning of community. Every family shares the common faith, and all are eager to lend a helping hand. Inside and outside the classroom, students are encouraging each other constantly and bond quickly with others within and across grades. Playing sports is encouraged, and spending time with other talented teammates builds relationships across grade levels. Wilberforce has so many amazing opportunities for students and families to contribute, especially because it is a growing school. The academics are rigorous and striking a unique balance between STEM and humanities, which is something I miss about my experience in college. However, Wilberforce is lacking in some areas such as non-academic support and a safe space to suggest improvements, especially for particular (and maybe reoccurring) circumstances. Senior: The school overall has a good support system and help is around any corner if you reach out in forms of students and faculty. The courses offered prepare students for outside endeavors and higher studies. Although school spirit has taken a step down since the pandemic there is still events for students to feel like one unit such as during the Homecoming Game/Dance, games and frequent meeting of clubs and other social groups. Students also walk to nearby Windsor plaza which has 7-Eleven, Papa Johns, Pancake House, Woori-Mart and Princeton Junction Railway Station for students to travel away from the district. However the school's information is scattered in websites, social media accounts and emails. It's quite hard to keep track of all the information which is why again it's important that you network with a lot of people around the school. Senior: I started attending Villa Victoria Academy in my junior year. I was nervous about attending this school because I was coming from a public school. Parent: Our children have all loved their experience at Littlebrook and one does have special needs. We moved from a neighboring town with a top blue ribbon K-8 and feel that the Littlebrook handled the IEP description and implementation better. Our child was not excluded and the teachers did not set the experience apart like in our previous school where bullying was permitted. Administration at Littlebrook does not "look the other way" and instead he addresses and problems and works in the best interest of the children. In fact, the child with special needs went on to do well following graduation and has made wonderful friends along the way. Each of our children loves/loved their Littlebrook peers and teachers. Parent: This is a great school where all the staff are dedicated to serving the students and the school's teaching goals and standards far exceed those of other public schools. My daughter is in high school, and I heard from her that her math level is much higher than that of children in other schools. Our goal is to let our children learn and grow. She has achieved happiness and academic progress here. Many classmates and teachers are her good friends. The number of people waiting in line for the lottery to enter this famous school in Princeton is getting more and more year by year. Middle School Student: I liked how nice and cool the teachers were and that my mom worked there so they let me see her anytime I wanted for the most part. Parent: Our child is at Riverside School as part of the autistic program. It is a great program and you don't have to live near Riverside to participate. In fact we live in Littlebrook, which our kids love because we can walk to town, Littlebrook School, Witherspoon and Princeton High and not have to cross Nassau. Both elementary schools are outstanding for different reasons but we wouldn't trade living in Littlebrook for any other part of town due to its nearness to downtown and town schools.... Parent: CP is home to the district’s DLI (Dual Language Immersion) program where half of the academic curriculum is taught in Spanish. Our experience there has been nothing but wonderful. Our daughter is near the end of first grade and has loved all of her teachers (she has two main teachers each year, one for English and one for Spanish). She doesn’t want the school year to end (and complains about holidays) because she misses school when it is closed. Though less than half the day is taught in Spanish (specials such as art, music, and gym are all taught in English), I’ve been amazed at the Spanish she has learned in less than two years (speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing). Senior: The teachers really love their jobs and are passionate about what they're teaching. They made high school fun, which a lot of people don't consider a fun time period. In addition to this, the school offers a lot of resources and preparation for the "real world." You can get loads of scholarship possibilities, internships, jobs, and even college credit!
