Senior: Olentangy Liberty High School is very large, and with it you can meet many people. It is always strange walking the hallways and seeing people you didn’t even know existed everyday. I really enjoyed the large school and the school pride present. There are an array of classes and the teachers really care. However, I would like to see a change in the way the school deals with cases involving bullying. As of now, for Ana cation to be considered bullying, it must happen many times and the victim must say stop, or else it’s just harassment. This protocol puts the victims in more danger and pushes kids not to speak up about it because it heavily favors the bully. Alum: Teachers are great. We have almost half of the school in the olentangy gifted programs.The gifted department here is very slouchy, even if you ask there is not much help, or students are discouraged on matters of subject selection for high school credits. Great admin. Our office staff are very friendly .gym facilities are good. Athletic department is good , but I have to mention middle school girls tennis is terrible, the coach won’t show up most days after he collects the money. Only for paid classes and selling the logo wear he comes. Other days it is totally unstructured and some parent volunteers are running it, they select teams every day and you will end up waiting for your turn since we have limited courts available. Senior: The school provides great opportunities for the people who really take advantage of them. People who are able to get ahead and take college classes while in high school can graduate with many college credits. However, there are many kids who get stuck and struggle to come up with enough credits to graduate. The school is not built for everyone. Also, the administration does not always support the kids in all their needs. Senior: I was very skeptical about going to a private high school when coming out of middle school. I went to a public middle school and I was not looking forward to leaving all my friends behind, wearing a uniform, and so much change. When I arrived at desales I could tell that the environment was different and unfamiliar. At first I viewed that as a bad thing. Over time I recognized that there is nothing to be afraid of. DeSales presents its students with a lot of work and at first I saw that as overwhelming. It did not take me long to realize that it is posible to accomplish goals that may seem out of reach. The school has places to go at all times of the day if you need help with math or writing, and the small class sizes mean that you can receive individual help from your teachers when needed. I am a senior now and I would be the first to say I have a few bones to pick with the school after four years. The price of school lunch went up this year. Just between us, I would do it again.... Senior: I came to this school my junior year (currently a senior) and I love it. The faculty are all amazing and truly care about each and every student. The only downsides I would mention are mostly due to the small size of the school. I enjoy having smaller class sizes, but a limited amount of students also means less available classes to take, like AP classes or electives. The social climate can also be difficult to adjust to, and students can be very cliquey, but the friends I have met have been really great. Overall, very happy I made the switch!... Read 68 reviews

Junior: I absolutely LOVE Olentangy Berlin High School! We are a new school having only been open since 2018, yet we have already won Varsity Brands “Most Spirited High School” award in 2022! The culture within our walls is incredible! You’ll often hear both students and teachers alike saying “shoulder-to-shoulder” signifying that we are family. Every Friday nearly 100% of staff and students wear the school colors: double blue! Every student knows their “home” address (the school’s address). Our student section knows and abides by the conviction that “we cheer for our school, NOT against the other school,” so you will not never hear trash-talking at games or events from our Bears, but you will hear LOUD support for all our sports teams and clubs! Football players attend soccer games, cross country runners cheer at volleyball games - because we’re all one family and we support one another on! Senior: Fugees Academy is a small private school for refugee students. These students come from all over the world with different experiences and new things to share with the world. Many of the kids have been through war. For many of these kids, Fugees is like a second chance at life that they have been given. Fugees is a really hands on school. Niche User: It was amazing to me. There were more diverse students there than any other school where I experienced. The school may not had sports or music programs, however, they do lots of art programs and sometimes theater. The teachers were so good to me and treated me very well and that's when I learned that I was safe there. It was like another home to me. That school will always be a part of me for the rest of my life! I wouldn't know how to get where I am now, if it wasn't for those magnificent teachers. Senior: Horizon science academy was not the type of school I thought I would end up in when I moved from New York City to Ohio. To begin with, the school had so much diversity, people from China, East Africa, West Africa, Asia, Cuba,etc. Overall, this school has amazing staff members who support the students, a great big community that sticks together, and many wonderful opportunities when it comes to education, getting ahead for your future, and extracurricular activities. One thing that does need to be changed is the location of the school. The building itself was a furniture store prior to becoming a school.
