Senior: While many are forced to come here because of their parents, I chose to attend this school. And even now, after 3 years, I don’t regret my decision. Sure, this school can be really mentally taxing; there’s hours and hours of homework and once you get to the college, it only gets worse. Senior: Charlotte High School does provide its students with a lot of opportunities, whether it be volunteering to making sure the student graduates. However one downside that risen over the pass four years I've attended is the limited options of advanced classes. Charlotte High School has adapted the AICE curriculum for most of its courses. Which is financially great, if you want to stay in Florida, since mostly Florida schools accept AICE credits. Because of the AICE curriculum and other factors, the amount of AP courses available have slowly been diminishing. Which overall kinda limits graduating students to applying to state school if they want to go to college in the long run. Works Here: SCFCS offers an academically focused and supportive environment that prepares students to complete both a high school and Associate in Arts degree by the time they graduate. Students can also continue their education at one of SCFCS's partnership institutions and complete a tuition-free Bachelor's degree. Such an amazing opportunity! The best part of working at SCFCS is that teachers and staff have the opportunity to spend a lot of time getting to know each of their students. That is because teachers also serve as academic coaches and help students to prepare for higher education and life beyond academia. There is an entire academic class period each day devoted to coaching. Therefore, the student-teacher relationship is excellent as teachers get to know each of their students well, both inside and outside of the classroom. Niche User: PCMS is a school that operates on mutual respect. Students are asked to set goals, and use leadership. Parents and community are welcome. Principal LeClair even conduct tours for people. They have strong academics, lots of sports, and arts programs. There is an amazing band and chorus program. Last spring, the music department performed at Disney World. There's a Drama Club, SWAT team, Builders Club, National Junior Honor Society, and more. This school received the highest grades of all CCPS middle schools it's a B school, but came very close to an A. Everyone's trying hard to achieve that, this year. Mr. LeClair was a middle school student, here. Kids respect him, because he served as a U.S. Marine. He, and his AP s Mr. Kunder and Ms. Lutz, are fair, and they like kids. Visit the school. Senior: Port Charlotte High School is a very welcoming school. This is to any new students who has either transferred from a different school and came to Port Charlotte or has came from a different state. In Port Charlotte you do not see a lot of people who have grown up here and have most likely moved from somewhere in the United States or even a different country. The diversity in the school is amazing. The students who attend here are very kind and it is almost a completely judge free zone. Especially the teachers, they are very open to helping with everything, this includes personal and school issues. The admin included get very personal with the students and want to know how they are doing at home and if they are involved with anything happening in the school. Involvement in Port Charlotte High is one of the biggest importances in this school. Senior: While attending this school I have had the best high school career a teenager could have, whether it's fun things we do or if it's work. CCS has allowed me to figure out who I was as a person, but more importantly as a christian. They have taught me self-discipline and responsibility. This school gives us various opportunities to help serve our community and serve the Lord. I have met lifelong friends at this school and wonderful teachers that are now mentors to me. Alum: Overall Murdock is a great middle school, kids get exposure to different people than who they were around for elementary school. Teacher and staff are very friendly, and classes are geared towards educating children. Alum: The Academy may not be an ordinary school but it is one of the best learning environments I’ve ever been in. This school has helped me in more than any other traditional school could. Attending to The Academy showed me what a school really should be doing. Before going to this school I wasn’t even sure I was going to graduate, but with the unconditional support I’ve gotten from not only my teachers but every staff has motivated me to better than good.
