Lowville High School
#351 Best Public High Schools in New York
- Lowville Academy & Central School District, NY
- Rating 3.61 out of 5 44 reviews
Alum: Lowville prepared me well academically and in extracurricular activities, I became a well rounded individual who is surviving and thriving as a current college freshman in a pandemic. Part of that preparation stems from learning to face unfair policies and adversity in high school.

South Jefferson High School
#552 Best Public High Schools in New York
- South Jefferson Central School District, NY
- Rating 3.64 out of 5 90 reviews
Senior: I attended the South Jefferson elementary, middle, and high schools. The schools are heavily focused on sports, which can be off-putting to people who aren't athletically inclined. However, the athletes tended to be pleasant to socialize with, at least in my experience. The high school auditorium is decent, but in need of some remodeling. The teachers, for the most part, are approachable, though fewer advanced classes are offered than what would be personally ideal. Overall, the school is nice, though it overdoes the athletic support a bit.

Copenhagen Central School
#558 Best Public High Schools in New York
- Copenhagen Central School District, NY
- PK, K-12
- Rating 4.03 out of 5 30 reviews
Senior: I love the inspiring teachers who are always ready to teach even on their worst days. Also, the way they are passionate allows the students such as myself to really follow our passions. The only things I would change would be the course selections and the high reliance on technological advances. I understand the lack of teachers for the extra courses but of course, education is always an important aspect in a child’s life, meaning that only the best is acceptable. Also, the school relies on technology incredibly such as chrome books and iPads for students starting in third grade all the way through high school. Overall, the school is amazing with only slight changes that don’t necessarily need to be made in order to be spectacular.
