Senior: I love the environment that MLK creates for it's students. MLK works hard to challenge their students in academics and life. It expands their students knowledge and opportunities to different sciences, mathematics, and engineering options. Due to the large diversity in MLK, the interaction among the students allows them to witness new ways of thinking and opinions. Senior: I have had the best high school experience I could have asked for. With a graduating class of 40 students, we are a small school. However, the smallness of our school provides a family-like relationship between students and teachers. The smallness also allows for major college preparedness because of how teachers are able to focus on your specific needs to get you ready for college. I love all my teachers because I get to learn from them academically as well as spiritually. Whenever I am in need of academic or spiritual council, I know there are more than enough teachers readily awaiting to help me. Works Here: Of all the schools I have worked in public and private, West Cheatham has the best and most professional faculty and staff. These people love their students and strive to create the best possible learning environment for "their kids." They help and support each other. I have never been in a school that has more teachers that have spent their careers there because there wasn't a reason to leave. There is great school spirit here too. Senior: This high school is perfect if all you want to do is go to college, they manage all of your classes and you have little control over what classes you are actually put in. However, they put you in classes where they think you will succeed or where you need credits. For clubs there is almost nothing. You have the bare bone basic clubs, along with some clubs that might seem out of the ordinary, but there really isn't many options to choose from. Some of the teachers there to watch you grow as a person, and with others it is apparent that they hate their job, which they make painfully obvious. The councilors are decent, and offer solid and realistic advice for score, credits, and classwork and where you might see yourself in the next couple of years. The community is very tight, and almost everyone knows everyone. Its hard to walk the halls and find someone that you believe to have never seen before. Senior: Lead academy is a place where diversity thrives. Throughout my 4 years there I have seen many religions, customs, and cultures and they are all respected and welcomed. Friends groups consist of the most odd pairs. There are no separate groups especially in the senior class since we are so small. We all know each other, communicate with each other, and learn from each other. Things like seniors privileges and field trips helped us make memories together and get to know each other. And just like the students are close to one another, they are also close to their teachers. This is because the teachers treat you with respect that fits the adult you and about to officially become when you graduate. They are open to listen and guide us and we appreciate their devotion and care. Lead really is one big family that I will forever be connected with. Senior: Harpeth High School is a very stereotypical public school in a small town. It has some amazing teachers who pour their hearts and souls into what they're teaching to make sure the students get the best education that they can provide. Like most public schools, some things definitely need improving, but the school is always finding new ways to change things up by painting walls or redecorating different spaces. It's a very small school, but it never feels over crowded, and teachers really take advantage of the small setting to create special bonds with their students that can't be found in the larger schools.... Senior: My experience at Sycamore High School has been nothing short of a roller coaster. My freshman year we went virtual, which was very difficult for me, considering I worked better in person. The next year when we went to hybrid schedule was a little easier but still not normal. By my Junior year we were almost back to complete normalcy. When I entered my senior year I made it my personal goal to make this year better than every other year had ever been. I ran for Senior class president in an effort to start making a difference. When I won that I gained the confidence to try to make a positive impact my Senior year. Me and my friends brought back the school spirit that had been majorly lost the years before. We started the Pep Club up again, ran organized meetings and encouraged other students to want to make a difference as well. Senior: Overall the school is great. I will first mention things that could be changed followed by the positive. First off, we need new ceilings. Every time it rains, our ceiling start to fall in. It could also use a new paint job.... every where. Our staff is wonderful though. They have pushed and encouraged me to where I am now and wouldn't be the same without them.
