Parent: The Meadows School is exceptional. I remember the first time I toured the campus I was overwhelmed with the thought, “This is how education should be. Why can’t all schools be like this?” The faculty holds high expectations while providing rigorous and engaging lessons that hone critical thinking skills and fosters productive citizenship. The school offers students an array of academic and extracurricular opportunities and the school community is the best I have witnessed. The school prides itself on teaching students service to one’s community, character, and scholarship. And, the Meadows values students from all economic backgrounds with 20% of students receiving financial aid scholarships. My family and I are thankful for The Meadows School. Senior: Coral academy of science Las Vegas is the best charter school I have ever seen and experienced. Coral academy prayers students for higher and challenging corses. It gets its students ready and prepared for college. If you would rate this school it will be 9.5 out of 10. There is nothing about the Academic stuff that I would like to change. The school is doing fantastic in the academic. However, I would like them on PE class not to take the students out of campus to go and do their activities at the park across the street. I feel that it’s not safe for students. Second thing is that as you all know the school shoring rate across the United States of America is so haigh. Coral academy fence around the school is law. Junior: The teachers are very supportive. Everyone is ver connected with each other and it truly gives you the chance to live your college and high school experience. There are different majors, currently in the nursing program. I get my CNA when I graduate and about 16 college credits. Every program has something different. Parent: I am thrilled with what Adelson is doing for our kids. We have three kids there, and each of them is learning at a very comfortable pace, socializing very well, and there are many athletics opportunities. What I especially love is there is no "woke" teaching. The emphasis is on math, English, a positive outlook on American history, and related matters that are essential for a child's development and preparation for the real world. We moved from Los Angeles, where we had some degree of strange teaching/education, and that is just not present here. We don't have to worry about that. And the administrators are warm, welcoming, and very easy to talk with! Finally, the classroom sizes are smaller, and much more attention is focused on the children. We are very blessed to have found Adelson. if there's one thing I would like to see changed (only because the prompt suggests I answer that) is perhaps a better emphasis on athletics, but even that is pretty good. Senior: The school is excellent regarding athletics, extracurriculars, and a great course selection. The teachers are there to help you whenever they are available. The school has obtained national and state championships in several different sports. The extracurriculars have a great range of various clubs people can join, such as honor societies. They include the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society (Math Honor Society), and much more! Junior: The dual enrollment aspect makes its academics awesome. Students are only required to take 3 high school classes, leaving the rest of the time open to schedule college classes. The HS classes themselves are very unique and unlike any class I've had or expected to have, which is a result of the amazing teachers. However, as a result of dual enrollment, the major focus is on academics, so there are little opportunities outside of it. There is really only 1 HS club in addition to electives, although students may join any CSN clubs, but you can do activities at your zoned school. Because you attend college classes at the same time, it's a great way to get a taste of what college may look like once you graduate while having support from HS resources. Since students are in college, they need to have determination and drive because you are responsible for yourself and there is little parent involvement. Senior: I really enjoyed my time at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts! If I could give half-star ratings, I would give it a 4.5, because though the school is great there are still some drawbacks. The environment is very positive and diversity, but the students can be kind of cliquey between majors. The teachers truly care, and they are always available to help students out. The campus is nice in some places, like the newly renovated Performing Arts Center, but other buildings are very old, and it takes forever for things to get fixed. In the Main Building, the upstairs girls bathroom had a broken sink for over 3 months, and the AC and heating systems in the Vocational Hall break annually. Parent: I attribute much of my daughters success to CSN. They each have been accepted into the healthcare programs of their choice and have made the transition to university out of state seamlessly. With the exception of one teacher, they have enjoyed their HS classes. The college itself has excellent professors and prepared them well for university level work. Also, their high GPAs achieved while at CSN have helped them achieve a higher cumulative GPA at their current university where they must maintain a 3.5 to remain in their respective programs. An important bonus to attending CSN that we never considered. Socially, my daughters were able to make friends easily and their peers were goal oriented like them. Although, clubs/sports are lacking my daughters maintained friendships with their friends at their former HS and had the best of both worlds. Senior: One of my favourite things about Coronado High was all the different classes I could take. There was something for everyone – from honours and advanced placement courses to vocational classes, and electives like photography, journalism and music production. It was also nice to see how many resources the school provided for students who needed extra help. Whether it was through tutoring, after-school programs, or even special support in specific classes, Coronado High School made sure that no student felt left out. Although my experiences at Coronado High were mostly positive, there is always room for improvement. If I could change one thing about Coronado High I’d also like to see a greater focus on life skills classes such as financial literacy, health education and career development. Senior: I believe that Doral Academy Red Rock is a great school. Its atmosphere, community, and opportunity to build one-to-one relationships with teachers and staff creates an overall safe and encouraging space to grow and flourish as students. I have had a fair share of good and bad experiences with former staff and teachers, but I have generally built good relationships with my peers and teachers/mentors that have helped me rise to success academically and in my extracurriculars. However a thing I would like to see changed, or yet better prioritized, is the funding and emphasis in our Fine Arts Programs. From the very opening of this campus we have had the title of being an ‘Arts-Integrated School’ associated with our name. However, it is noticeable that in recent years our fine arts departments have not been sustainably funded as compared to our sports programs.
