Alum: Columbus Academy has all the right tools and opportunities for the students willing to seek them. After attending the school from pre k to senior year I can say that I am truly grateful for the opportunity. To start with the positives of the school, it’s beautiful, cultivates a close bond between students and their teachers, elite curriculum, and a close community. Despite all the positives Columbus Academy can be a nightmare for the wrong student. It takes a certain student to fit into the community and excel in the classroom. Additionally, I believe the school is having an identity crisis whether to be the strict, traditional school it once was or transform into a more contemporary independent school. Alum: Columbus School for Girls has the most elite collection of teachers whose education ranges from great experience and even to doctoral degrees. Your education and the environment of talented students invokes the desire to learn. My only advice is a reconsideration on an administration level. Rather than hear from your head of school that your education is a “business transaction” or that social issues involving harmful language is to be solved by sitting in a room with the offender where they are allowed to tell the victim how they are wrong, I think careful thought and consideration could be put in to better solve these remarks or dilemmas. Senior: Olentangy High School is a very academically proficient school district with many of the smartest students in the Columbus area. However, merely going to this school will not guarantee you a good education. You get out what you put in. I've taken many easy classes and many difficult classes, and throughout I've found teachers who teach the AP and honors courses are the best. They are the most passionate about their subjects and are more flexible with student learning. I if you want to have a good experience at this school, I recommend getting involved as much as possible. Junior: I absolutely LOVE Olentangy Berlin High School! We are a new school having only been open since 2018, yet we have already won Varsity Brands “Most Spirited High School” award in 2022! The culture within our walls is incredible! You’ll often hear both students and teachers alike saying “shoulder-to-shoulder” signifying that we are family. Every Friday nearly 100% of staff and students wear the school colors: double blue! Every student knows their “home” address (the school’s address). Our student section knows and abides by the conviction that “we cheer for our school, NOT against the other school,” so you will not never hear trash-talking at games or events from our Bears, but you will hear LOUD support for all our sports teams and clubs! Football players attend soccer games, cross country runners cheer at volleyball games - because we’re all one family and we support one another on! Sophomore: Metro early college high school is something that will always hold a special place in my heart. From the friends I made, to the classes I had, it was truly amazing. Before I came here, I set very low expectations of myself. I just wanted to finish high school doing the bare minimum. That all changed when I came to Metro. There’s mastery system which seems intimidation at first but it really has helped me. Now I’m going into my sophomore year doing trigonometry. Senior: Although there are many positive aspects of being a student at Orange High School, there is no denying the negative side of the school. Many teachers and staff pick favorites and therefore treat students unfairly and unequally, not to mention the lack of dress code reinforcement. The number of girls I see wearing what can only be described as a bathing suit top is astounding to me. Orange claims to have zero tolerance for bullying, but in my case and the case of many others, that is not true. Either they are blind to it or purposefully ignore it to remain neutral. On a positive note, our school has a large amount of school spirit and pride, as well as a large variety of classes and clubs to choose from. No school is perfect, but I can say with certainty that Orange is working on its issues, and will hopefully become better in the coming years.... Read 193 reviews

Works Here: Oak Creek Elementary takes care of 676 students in the 2017-2018 calendar year. Every teacher and administrator goes above and beyond to make sure the diverse population of students succeed in every facet of their school experience. I'm overly impressed with the quality of the food service experience. From Smoothie Thursday for breakfast to Pizza Wednesday. Ever meal is nutritious and tasty in a welcoming environment.... Senior: My experiment with St. Francs Desales HighSchool is one to remember. I remember coming into my freshman year all nervous and sacred. The teachers, administration, and seniors helped by welcoming the freshman with open and loving arms. They made me feel more comfortable and confident with my approach. I was introduced to new friends who I have grown close with and trust with my life. The best parts of St. Francis Desales are its academics, they help any and everyone to their fullest extent, very welcoming, and they have many extra curricular activities. The worst parts of Desales are probably just some teachers who don’t teach well but that’s about it. Senior: I have been very pleased with my experience at St. Charles. When I was an incoming Freshman I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised with the strong academics and culture. I think it has prepared me for college more so than any other school in the state of Ohio would have been able to and has allowed me to create strong friendships along the way. Our sports programs are some of the most competitive in the Columbus area. They give the students room to grow as an athlete and as an individual. St. Charles Prep. truly shines in its teaching of the maths and sciences. It has some of the best teachers in those subjects, and they can be helpful if you thinking of going into a field with a heavy emphasis on those subjects. St. Charles Prep. has taught me how to manage my time, strengthen my academics, and help me create lifelong relationships. Parent: All five of our children attended Columbus Torah Academy from elementary school through high school graduation. They received excellent secular and Judaic educations and were able to excel at the top Yeshivas and selective universities. They all went on to graduate programs and are successful in their careers. Most importantly, they all have wonderful families and send all our grandchildren to Jewish Day Schools.
