Senior: Tuscaloosa Academy is a great school. A good school for academics. I like how this school introduces the ACT to you at a young age, you start taking the ACT in 7th grade. I also like how you can have a connection with your grade and have a great bond with your teachers. The classes and teachers pushing you to be great and understand things. Senior: American Christian Academy has given me a better experience in primary AND secondary school than I ever could have dreamed of. The two athletics teams I was part of maintained a great balance between enjoyable and competitive, the clubs and organizations were plentiful, and the students were extremely kind (OF COURSE we didn't all get along...it IS high school we're talking about here; nonetheless, I had barely any problems at all with students and it was a rarity when major issues did occur between students). The most impressive and unique aspect of ACA in my opinion is the teachers. They are incredibly passionate about what they do and are very caring and understanding toward their students, and it makes such an impact. As for academics themselves, the math and science departments need some work; however, the English department is top notch. Senior: I love Tuscaloosa County High School! It has been such a smooth 4 years for me, and I have to thank our wonderful faculty for it! There has been so many opportunities and ways to get involved at this school. There are a variety of different clubs and teams you can get involved with to reach out to the community and to simply make friends. Senior: Sipsey Valley High School is a school that will welcome anyone, It's a small school in Buhl AL. Everyone is felt welcomed when they walk through the doors of Sipsey. All of the wonderful staff we have at Sipsey they have taught us everything we need to know in life from how to cook and wash clothes to how to buy a house and even solve a math equation. This is the best school for students, great memories were made here and more to come. The best part of Sipsey is nobody ever feels left out or not included. If you ever need anything the teachers will go beyond and make sure you are taken care of this is the best part of Sipsey. Sipsey Valley has one of the best educations in the state we placed in the top 50% of all schools in Alabama for overall test scores. When you have a problem you can go to any staff member and they will help you to the best ability they can. Junior: Northside High School has great teachers, many different classes, and an amazing community. Northside's academics are great compared to other schools in the area, but the sports and facilities we have are the best in Tuscaloosa. We have had a turf football field installed recently and the school plans to implement more types of sports like wrestling. We already have baseball, football, soccer, golf, basketball, bowling, softball, and track. The teaching is great and prepares you for college, but the sports are even better! Alum: Attended Englewood during the 2008- 2011 school year. Home of the patriots, participated in activities. Helped volunteer in the fall festival during my senior year in high school. Was a member of the school newspaper, interviewed teachers and students. During severe weather, fire, or lock down drills, was provided with best care. Taught some skills that became helpful in high and were rememorable . Not many clubs , but the school had lots of activities . Provided school dances for students who excelled in academics .... Parent: My daughter has attended TCS since K4 and we couldn't be more proud of the Christian and Academic Education she has received. It is a college preparatory school with highly qualified Christian teachers. Due to these teachers ( and the hard work of my child, :), she was able to maintain a high grade point average to be entitled to take advantage of the school's Early College program which allowed my child to take college credited classes beginning her 11th-grade year. Alum: Middle school is a very excited time in a persons life. This is a time for children to find out who they are and what they are interested in.
