Parent: We have found a vibrant and supportive community at Germantown Academy. As a parent, I have been impressed with the faculty's ability to meet my children where they are by providing encouragement and support when necessary and challenge and rigor when appropriate. Focus is on critical thinking and analytical skills, working with others in groups and peer-review situations. Students are taught to advocate for themselves and contribute to the community. My children feel comfortable sharing their ideas and asking questions. In Upper School, teachers make time to meet with students on an individual basis, and this is encouraged. Middle School Student: I am currently in middle school at SCSC and I would consider it a second home. I believe the learning process is fit and customized to the student so that the student personally can grow as an individual in all kinds of aspects. The teachers and students are all very welcoming the moment you walk in. SCSC is not like other schools. I feel the diversity at this school is excellent. One thing that makes my school so unique is a little thing we call "100 Book Challenge". Each school day we read 30 minutes of a book of our choice that is our level. Based on the student's reading ability, we are matched with a level. We log a line every 15 minutes we read. The point of this is that if you reach a multiple of 100, you get awarded a medal and recognition of the entire school. I have not even scratched the surface of what makes my school unique and extraordinary compared to others, but I'm running out of room to write. Senior: There are so many incredible opportunities offered at North Penn. Between clubs, classes, and teachers and staff that help find resources and connections, students are given many chances to take steps towards their career and interests. Both the engineering and the art department are amazing, with amazing teachers and resources. I would like to see more young, engaged teachers that are passionate about their subject. I would also like to see the admin and counselors do more to listen and help the students in troubles with classes, teachers, or events. Some policies are unfair and far too strict, so it would be good to see them revisit them or look closer at the "why" of any given situation (e.g. vapes, fights, voting for school-promoted contests). Parent: My daughter just completed her first year at GMA! We are thrilled with the positive experience and environment offered to her. She was a part of student council, as well as a member of the soccer and track teams. Besides those activities, she loved being a part of multiple clubs from dance club to investment club. Parent: Our family has been blessed with a Dock Mennonite Academy education thus far for 2 of our 4 children! Middle School Student: Penndale was the greatest school I had the pleasure of going to. While there were a few teachers I had the displeasure of meeting, most of them were quite extraordinary. For someone who moves a lot, I've never been to a better school. Mostly, everyone was kind and I loved almost everyone I met. The school was huge and filled with knacks and twists and turns about as cool as Hogwarts. I miss it greatly. I now am going to a middle school in Virginia, which is by far the worst school I've ever been to. Parent: I loved Lansdale catholic high school! The environment was amazing and I could not have asked for a better high school experience. When I first got to Lansdale Catholic, I knew no one there. I came from a large public middle school going to this small private catholic high school. I quickly learned that Lansdale Catholic High School is a family. It will forever be a family. I will always hold LCHS near and dear to my heart. everyone there is so kind and friendly. Everyone wanted to see the students succeed. From the teachers, administrators, faculty and everyone else in-between, it was overall an amazing school. My dad attended LC when he was in high school. I was very proud to be apart of his legacy. I am hoping one day to also send my kids to LC. I want them to have a similar HS experience to what I had. The true community that Lansdale Catholic High school provided was amazing. Parent: As a parent of three children who have been attending the school for many years, I wholeheartedly recommend Calvary Baptist School because of its biblical teachings, solid academic standards, excellent faculty and continued opportunities for honor and AP studies as well as dual high/school college enrollment. In the middle school and high school, there are opportunities to get involved in sports, drama and other activities. The teachers are amazing, devoted, and take the time to invest in the lives of their studies. Parent: My daughter began PMFS in their Pre-K class. Now, she's a graduating 6th grader! From the moment both my daughter and I stepped foot on campus we both knew this was where we wanted to grow our roots. My daughters experience at PMFS has been filled with supportive teachers who have always taken the time to know her, at each grade level. Faculty are intentional about learning the whole child in an effort to support what they need for academic success. PMFS laid the foundation for my daughter to take risks- that all led to academic and social growth. My daughter is happy at PMFS, she feels a connection with not just the faculty and her peers, but the campus as a whole. She calls PMFS "Home". Parent: Not only does the school have a supportive faculty but the parents of the students are truly involved with the school and strive to make it a foundation from which the kids can learn from. Parent: Great school. Teachers are a bit long in the tooth, but overall care very much. The curriculum seemed appropriate for the grade level and at least for the younger kids the amount of homework was easily manageable. The parental involvement, small class and overall school size makes sure that all kids are known and recognized. This helps to make them feel safe and loved as well as parents are more at ease knowing that every teacher and staff know the parents and kids so if there was something not right it would be recognized right away. The cons: Very low diversity. If you are not a member of the parish attached to the school you find yourself and the kids on the outside. My kids are not members so even though they were invited to b-day parties, etc mostly because the whole class was invited they found themselves being excluded from playground activities and playdates because the parish kids would have their own cliques. Parent: St. Jude School exceeded my expectations by far. They have wonderful caring teachers and administration. The teachers make sure the students have the resources to make sure they succeed. Many teachers will spend extra time with a student if they are struggling with a concept. They'll even give up their own free time to help a student.
