Sophomore: My experience with Chestnut Ridge High School has been, overall, very good. As an all A student, I would say that the academics are not very rigorous. Some classes require more effort than others, but the workload is fairly light and I am still learning enough to sufficiently pass the standardized tests in Pennsylvania (Algebra, Biology and Literature Keystones). The same goes for the teachers at this high school. Most of the teachers care about their students and strive to help them learn, with the exception of a few who are less engaged. There are many clubs and activities offered, such as SADD, TATU, Envirothon, Forensics, FFA and FBLA. I myself am a member of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and can honestly recommend my high school if only for this one club! The High School FBLA Director at Ridge is invovled with all the members, preparing them for Region, State and National competitions while also continuing to provide community service opportunities.
