Alum: Where to start. I attended the HMS Adolescent Program on the farm from 2006-2008 (7th through 9th grade) and it was one of the best educational experiences of my life. I loved the freedom to grow, the international student body, the practicality of the classes that took place on the farm, and the guides. I couldn’t imagine a better place to have middle school / junior high. In particular, I highly valued “occupations” classes combining theoretical with practical knowledge on bees, bridges, micro economy, and more. At the same time HMS offered advanced foreign language classes and Algebra II for 9th graders, keeping me on track with honors/AP curricula in public schools. I truly loved my time at the Farm School.
