Senior: There is not much diversity in our town or school (so that is lacking overall) but our teachers are really good. We have an amazing music department and overall the staff and teachers are really wanting to help the students to their best. There are a lot of clubs and activities to choose from so that you can find something that is a good fit for your personality. College readiness is good in terms of the education aspect. Guidance is not all that helpful in guiding kids where a good fit might be for them. This is lacking overall. Strong math and science here and there are a large number of AP courses to choose from. This review is also of schooling during COVID. Last year was entirely remote except for a month or so, so honestly, its hard to really be able to say how things would be in a "normal" time. Senior: Notre Dame Jr./Sr. High School provided me with the necessary skills to problem-solve, be creative, work collaboratively and to excel by working independently. As a prep school, I believe I am fully prepared to be academically challenged, to remain organized, disciplined and that I am academically prepared to succeed in college. Teachers and administrators are passionate about their professional roles as instructors and leaders. They have been excellent adult role models for me. I am proud to have had the educational opportunities while at Notre Dame, that many neighboring schools could not offer me, such as NJROTC program where I became very involved in providing extensive community service hours for both school and community; as well as the ability to freely pray while at school and develop a closer relationship with God. Senior: Clinton Senior High School is a relatively good school. I think I got a great education and had teachers that truly cared about me. Of course all schools could use some change. I think the only changes that could be made is putting more money into the bathrooms and the athletic department. We are one of the only high schools in our area that do not have a turf field. That would greatly help our athletes in the future. The bathrooms are not taken care of to the extent that they should. Overall Clinton is a great school and it was a great experience.... Middle School Student: I am an eighth-grader here at Sauquoit Valley Middle School and I have loved my time here at Sauquoit Middle School! I have had trouble with some teachers but that is expected because not everyone can like you! I have many friends here and I think it is quite easy to make friends here. Sophomore: Whitesboro has something for every type of student. Everything was honestly great until COVID hit, but now some of the teachers don’t know how to use technology which is a nuisance for students. Most of my teachers have been making a decent effort to keep students engaged during hybrid learning. The football team is really good but leads to other sports getting overlooked. My advice to anyone looking at Whitesboro is to get involved in clubs music and sports. The music program has so many electives and extra curricular activities and all of the teachers are helpful.... Senior: A smaller community of students and staff than many other schools, with a graduating class usually of 100 or lower, allows for a more personal education. Low student to teacher ratios are great when you're in need of some extra support or helping hand. Everyone is exceptionally welcoming, relationships formed with the teachers is unlike any other a school I've attended. Academics can be ridiculously easy or especially challenging, depending on one's work ethic and classes they decide to take. Junior year and beyond, there is a lot of academic freedom. Two downsides: the entire art department consists of one classroom, one teacher, and there is not a lot of emphasis on it. This and, racial diversity at this school is virtually nonexistent. As a poc and newer student, I was a bit shellshocked the first couple days, as I came from a school where there was a 50/50 ratio between caucasian and poc. Here is, wow. Sophomore: This school is so amazing! It is so different from public school. I love how this school provides uniform.. therefore the bullying rate has been knocked down to like 2%. Everyone is basically wearing the same clothes so no one is getting picked on. I love how diverse the school is with a lot of ethnicity & more. However there could be more sports for students to get involved in instead of just soccer , basketball & volleyball. Maybe add football or baseball. Senior: Overall, my high school experience was absolutely amazing. I felt right where I belonged with the crowd I was in! Being around the same student for twelve years, everyone knew each other and we always made sure we were all doing well. I was a huge part of my community in giving back, as we help to make sure we all feel safe, welcomed, and bounce ideas off of each other in order to make our experience at New York Mills very pleasant . Niche User: I loved my experience at OHM Boces. I was in the P-TECH program and was in it from my freshman till my junior year. It was a very different experience from regular public school the teachers and students were much closer together and were more understanding of one another.
