Senior: It has been a great experience for me. I grew as a person and a student as the years go by. I have made friends that i can consider close brothers to me. The lacrosse team at JCA was a brotherhood to me because we were always there for each other no matter win or lose. The band and drama club were the best thing to happen to me because I became close to everyone there. The Kairos experience is once and a lifetime opportunity and i grew more as a person over there. The education here is great because the teachers make the lessons easy to learn and are helpful if you ask questions. it is a great community to be a part of, so i highly reccomend attending.... Senior: School years in Minooka are surprisingly thrilling due to loads of optional activities you can participate in and outside the school such as painting the school walls, making fun poems for library’s displacement, or just simply walk around the park as a class. Moreover, I do think it has a very healthy studying environment considering how encouraging and friendly the teachers and staffs are. This energy influences the students’ attitudes as well, making it easier to find friends or just start a conversation with someone you don’t know. And one thing I do like in particular is how cohesive all the lessons were, combining them with the positive vibe from the teachers, classes are always enjoyable and fun. I will definitely recommend Minooka High to anyone who wasn’t sure of what school they should attend. No matter what your personality is, you’ll find a place where you belong in there. Parent: Providence Catholic High School has excellent academics; their students significantly exceed the state averages in all of the standardized test scores. Their student to teacher ratio is 14:1, so every child receives an abundance of guidance and care. But it is the wonderful, loving atmosphere of this school that makes it truly amazing! There are no cliques; the students are so kind and supportive of each other. It seems too good to be true, until you meet the President of the school, Father John Merkelis. Parent: My pre-schoolers are learning self-regulation in addition to basic skills, letters, numbers, etc. The environment compared to other pre-schools is night and day. We've been elsewhere and kids were running around and close to out of control at times. Here the kids learn self-control and when you walk in, they are all busy quietly working all over the room. They can follow their natural curiosity, but they also can develop at their natural pace. My 4-year-old is learning to read and the concept of fractions, but at other schools he would be in trouble all the time because he's behind in respecting other's work and doesn't always engage with his work. Parent: We have four children who attend SMI. We feel that they get an excellent education, in a faith-filled environment. The teachers go above and beyond to help each student. There is also a family feel to the school and it's so nice to have that kind of school for our children. Parent: The amazing staff and families at Cross have been a tremendous blessing to my family. My children have grown in their faith and are getting closer to loving like Jesus all the time. The children are often paired with different grade levels to create a family feel and give confidence to the younger children. I have seen my children challenged and supported in their academics. The teachers help foster a love of learning and a love for reading. If they struggle with math, we can watch lessons from the teacher at home to help grasp difficult concepts. The amount of time teachers give to help students is amazing. The athletic offerings have given my kids an opportunity to be competitive at high levels while keeping sportsmanship as a top priority. My son loves the band program and my daughter loves building her leadership through Daisys.
