Junior: This school helps me with providing me a ton of options of rigorous courses like AP classes. The teachers are willing to help when you ask them for help and they care for you. Since it is more of an academic school, the sports and music is not the best compared to other parts of the school. The school is pretty safe and there are no school fights. The kids are pretty nice to each other too. The facilities like bathrooms and buildings are a little old and sometimes need to renovate, but classrooms got new Smartboards and teachers have a lot of sources to teach children and prepare for classes. Parent: We love our Holy Trinity experience so far! We have a 8th grader and a 10th grader. They both came from a homeschooling background so it was an adjustment for them. The school worked with us both socially and academically to help find the right level for each student. As far as the social aspect, they assigned an ambassador for each of them when they started there to help them feel comfortable asking any questions they had and just having someone to sit with at lunch. The teachers are personally invested in our kids as well. They take the time to draft emails to us communicating any kudos or areas we can help our students. Parent: Edgewood Junior/Senior High School is a "school-of-choice" in Brevard County Florida. Only two schools in the county are designated schools of choice, where students are selected by a lottery system to attend the 7 through 12th grade school. As a school of choice, Edgewood faculty and academics focus on preparing the students to excel in their classes, sports, arts, SATs and college admissions. Small class sizes contribute to the personal one on one relationship with the teachers and administration. Students are encouraged to participate in sports, clubs or in the arts as well as a requirement to volunteer hours within the community. The school does not provide busing and that creates a "privilege culture" that limits the diversity on campus. Junior: Florida Prep is a very welcoming home for people of all nationalities. More efforts are made every year to promote the diversity our campus encapsulates. Boarding is continually improving and is really fun. We have smoothie nights, Christmas parties, and now are starting video game nights that welcome both day and boarding students. Junior: Pineapple Cove is a beautiful and welcoming community. The school is an A rated public charter school and they truly live up to that title. The staff are kind and accommodating to all students. The teachers create personal connections with the students and staff in their daily interactions and are of the highest standing and character. All are respectful, warm, and understanding individuals. The administration does a fantastic job at adhering to the needs and desires of the overall student body and assists if their is any disturbance or hindrance to the education of the students. They uphold the values of community and virtue and are great to enforce the rules of the school in a reasonable manner. Students are respected, known by name, and due to the small school size are able to form tight bonds with the students and faculty around them. Alum: I graduated from Viera High School on May 2022 and I have to say it was such a beautiful, yet sad, memory. Viera High School was an amazing school to study at and I wish I could study there for the rest of my academic life! The staff members are friendly and willing to help! Teachers are nice and give a reasonable amount of work, and topics and material are taught very well. They have two academies (Academy of Business and Finance and ACAD) in which if you get accepted you'll have much better opportunities to graduate with an outstanding amount of honors classes and have many activities to participate in, which look good for college. Viera High also has a vast selection of sports and clubs that you can join and spend time in having fun! Viera High was an awesome school, I wish the very best to VHS and anyone that studies there. Senior: This school fosters a genuine relationship with Christ in each of its students. The small-school culture promotes closeness in the classes. Although, new students may struggle to fit in due to already firmly established friend groups. Senior year brings many events and activities to fellowship. High school retreat is a great time to grow closer to friends and, most importantly, to Jesus. Bible class and Chapel are genuine and authentic. All seniors take Apologetics and Ethics to prepare for life after high school. Drama and music are a key part of the school’s culture. This past year they performed “Newsies.” Many students attend FBCMI’s(First Baptist Church of Merritt Island)youth group: Firehouse. This youth group fulfills the mission of making disciples. Every Wednesday students go to be fed spiritually and to fellowship with their peers. Parent: We are entering our 4th year here and we love it. Our school may not have some things that other schools have like sports teams or a big gymnasium, but we have excellent teachers and office staff. They truly care for our kiddos and their education. There will always be a special teacher that especially touches your heart and we have had several here at WMSS. We have had some teachers move or some office staff retire, but it doesn't deter from the excellence this school provides. We are a family. We support each other. Parent: Viera Charter School is a premiere elementary and middle school! As a parent, I cannot say enough great things about the teachers. They really care about their students' education and well being. We are a military family, and we feel that VCS is truly a village and everyone is watching out for all our children. Apart from the fantastic teachers, the admin works tirelessly to bring the best possible curriculum to the school. We have programs in place such as AVID and Cambridge, that make the school's learning environment so successful. Viera Charter also has a great School Resource Office, who goes above and beyond for the kids there. There is also a great amount of clubs and sports, for all ages! We are very fortunate to live in a district with such wonderful schools and teachers. But, I think VCS is just above the rest with their teachers, curriculum, and activities for all grades. Alum: I attended Satellite High School from 2014-2018, overall I was happy with my experience. The thing that personally stands out about Satellite High School to me were the teachers, very few times before attending this school did I feel as if the teachers actually cared about me as a student and a person equally. From common core classes to extracurriculars, teachers cared about their students not only in class but out of class as well. I have very fond memories of a few teachers in particular that went above and beyond daily for their students. Even two years later after graduating I still keep in touch every once in a while with some of those teachers. With what Satellite High lacks in diversity and overall "school culture", it makes up for in the department of education/faculty, good sports teams, and a multitude of extracurriculars and clubs. Senior: I personally had a fantastic experience at odyssey. I've been at this school since vpk and will also be graduating from this school. I have been given many opportunities to leave this school, but I always choose to stay because odyssey gives me many vigorous activities to strengthen my knowledge. Senior: I love the big student population and the school spirit that we have at every event like football games, dances, festivals, and so much more. The only reason I didn't consider 5 stars is the administration. It feels like there is a huge gap between the administration and the student body as there is not two-way communication. When a decision was made at school, the student leaders on campus (such as student government and club leaders) were not consulted. For example, in my graduating class of 2023, we had many senior traditions taken away from us without a chance for discussion or compromise. Middle School Student: My years spent at this school were tough, but it wasn't because of the staff, or even (entirely) the other students. Those years of my life were the roughest, because I was still struggling not to reject the help i needed out of hand.
