Parent: This is a school that genuinely cares about its students. Starting with the Freshman Seminar, developed by a JPG teacher to help freshmen transition into high school both academically and socially, the faculty and staff really actively care about the success of each student. The Bioethics classes, again developed by a faculty member, teaches students how to understand and process the very complicates issues they face in today's society in a way that is in line with their faith teaching but also in a real world context that allows them to productively discuss these issues with people of different faiths or even no religious beliefs. To change anybody's mind you have to be able to have a civil conversation about issues. Parent: It’s the right place for my children. They have been there since kindergarten and now my oldest is a senior. High quality education that uses the Abeka and BJU curriculums. Teachers have their educational degree and are committed to teach and mentor the students. Every year they incorporate new experiences to the students. Despite Covid-19, the school was able to provide in person schooling very early and implement safety protocols without issues or need to closed again. It’s a school that seek to provide a Biblical world view for students to grow in their faith and relationship with God. I’m very thankful for the administration and staffs and for the support we have received in multiple challenges throughout these 12 years. Parent: I sent my student to Pennington after hearing other parents talk about the small, tight community. It's such a unique school, my daughter loves it there and has been soaring academically! with only 3 classrooms per grade, uniforms, a focus on instilling pride in their students, requiring parent involvement, and interactive teaching it's a gem that most parents don't know about.... Junior: I have been going to Woodbridge High School for the past two years. I had one year virtual, and this past year has been in person. The switch was difficult and I had felt a bit sad missing on some experiences freshman year. This past year however has been one of my favorites in a social way. Parent: When our family moved to the area we narrowed down our list of potential schools for our girls based upon the individual reviews that were posted on various school district rating websites. We have been extremely pleased so far with what my husband and I have observed while our girls have attended this particular school which is located within the Prince William County school district. My family has enjoyed the time we have spent within Leesylvania and feel secure knowing that wherever we end up next our children have been setup for success thanks in part to the entire staff of Leesylvania Elementary School.... Middle School Student: I loved this school. There is an all girls and all boys program where you can be assigned to classes of either all girls or all boys depending on your gender. I enjoyed being in a class with girls because I felt more comfortable with other girls who understood me. Especially having all female teachers, it was really nice and they made me feel comfortable. We would also have field trips or social activities occasionally that some of the CO-ED classes did not have. I would recommend any parent to place their boy or girl in WMS in the gender program.... Middle School Student: I went to Rippon from 2012-2014 (7th-8th grade). I had moved from NY to VA. Junior: Potomac senior high school is a great learning environment and full of unique experiences. Teachers here are very helpful and understanding with students and have a passion for their work. Making friends and having strong relationships with others is an important thing for many students. There are many fun and action-filled clubs to join and sports are also highly valued here. Teachers and students fill the halls and classrooms with waves of school spirit and pride, being an environment i truly enjoy being involved in. Alum: Fred Lynn was a great place to go to school, I learned about the real world. I made some great friends had some great teachers, and learned valuable lessons about different cultures and different world views. I learned individuality is awesome even though when I was there we had uniforms. However, you are bound to have at least one lame teacher like at most any school, after school events for parents may be unorganized. Senior: I love Freedom High School! I have spent 3 years so far during my high school years. I am about to finish my fourth year there. I loved the people and environment it had given me so far. One thing so far that I would change is the classes. There. is not many classes I would have loved to take but Freedom High School did not offer. I wished to experience more classes. Parent: Two of my children started at ICHS this past fall, transferring from Fairfax County Public schools. We couldn't be happier! They do find the academics more challenging than public school. My eleventh grader noted that the teachers really have time not just to teach, but make sure that you understand the material. My ninth grader does not get "forgotten" as he did at the public school where we would not know there was a problem until his report card came two weeks after the quarter ended. It is reassuring that they are in a Christian, caring environment, that they are challenged to meet and exceed academic expectations, and that they come home excited to let us know what they are learning about.
