Senior: I like the classes offered, the list is very diverse and there are many paths available for whatever interests students have. When I talk with my friends from other schools in the area they say we have way more classes. Even with good academics there are still some bad parts about the school, there are many people (students and very few teachers) who are discriminatory against people in the LGBTQ+ community. Senior: Washington is a very good school, everyone supports each other and there is a great deal over diversity here. There are many clubs that make you feel welcome, dungeons and dragons, the schools literary press, we have even have different clubs that teach different cultures! Our fine arts department also gets a lot of support, many parents, friends, and family show up to performances and give very generous donations. Not only does Washington have good clubs and a supportive environment but there are many opportunities to get ahead for college, They have beneficial AP courses with teachers who actually take the time to teach and make sure everyone is on the same page, you can be involved in college classes while still being in highschool or you can pick classes that go at a slower pace, there are many classes to choose so you can find the best ones accommodated for you. Parent: As a parent, I love KLA! The school celebrates diversity in all students, teaches life lessons by encouraging the kids to lead, the teachers have all been caring and challenge my kids (one with special needs) and our daughters IEP is respected. The admin meets with us to update it twice a year. The number of before/after school activities has increased over the years as well. They added soccer, basketball, lego league, stem classes, art classes, and after school running clubs. Parent: Ugh, where to begin! I have SO MANY positive things to say about LaSalle Catholic School. After moving to Cedar Rapids in 2018, my family and I were not impressed with Cedar Rapids public school district (not that there’s anything wrong with it, it just didn’t fit our family’s values and needs), we took a chance and toured the elementary school for our young daughter.. and the rest is history! We’ve been here since then and love everything about this school. From the teachers, the teaching curriculums, and even to the safety that I feel while sending my child to school in the era of COVID-19, everything is perfect. We love LaSalle Catholic School!...
