She felt welcomed from the first time we visited thru her entire time so far even though her friends were going to school elsewhere. We couldn't be happier with our choice as our child is thriving academically as well as with her extracurricular activities. The student population is very diverse and her friends are spread out throughout Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery county. Niche User: SCH is an incredible school! I know several families that have sent their children to SCH and they have all been thrilled with their experience (even during COVID). The faculty is hands-on, enthusiastic, and supportive but they also encourage students to grow, make mistakes and learn on their own. The elective offerings in the upper school are interesting and give students the ability to pursue their individual interests at a high level and their CEL and robotics programs are wildly popular and highly supported just like the sports and arts. Several of the teachers have been there for over thirty years! The Phil-Mont community is supportive, the environment is safe, and the academics are strong. After Phil-Mont, I went on to complete three postsecondary degrees (a bachelor’s degree, and two masters degrees), and I feel that Phil-Mont prepared me well for that path. Middle School Student: I am a student at KV. KV is one of my favorite life experiences. On the first day of school, teachers and older students were so welcoming and cheerful. Freshman: Overall I think that HH is a great place to go. They have a wide variety of classes that can be taken that can prepare students for life and education after high school. There are some issues though. For example, we have something called lunch and learn, which is an 80 minute time period we students can eat with their friends anywhere in the building, get a teacher's help, study, walk around, or play in the gym. It's a good concept because it gives students free time and a break, which is very helpful for a learning environment. However, some people take advantage of it. People vape in the bathrooms or anywhere they can't be seen by a teacher and they is trash left everywhere. They are addressing this issue and are taking out the locker pods so people can't hide. Parent: I loved Lansdale catholic high school! The environment was amazing and I could not have asked for a better high school experience. When I first got to Lansdale Catholic, I knew no one there. I came from a large public middle school going to this small private catholic high school. I quickly learned that Lansdale Catholic High School is a family. It will forever be a family. I will always hold LCHS near and dear to my heart. everyone there is so kind and friendly. Everyone wanted to see the students succeed. From the teachers, administrators, faculty and everyone else in-between, it was overall an amazing school. My dad attended LC when he was in high school. I was very proud to be apart of his legacy. I am hoping one day to also send my kids to LC. I want them to have a similar HS experience to what I had. The true community that Lansdale Catholic High school provided was amazing. Alum: My experience at Archbishop Wood was overall a great experience. The culture at the school is my favorite part of the school. There is more economic diversity at this school than most of the other PCL schools in the area, and it contributes to a less stuck-up culture, in comparison to La Salle and Prep. There is a sense of grit within the student body and I love it, the school definitely acts on this competitiveness through their athletics. I was a member of the Football Team and over 10 extracurriculars at the school. If you seek it out, there is something for you at this school, trust me. The new counseling department and the curriculum prepared me for college, I am enrolled at a nationally-ranked Liberal Arts College and I have to thank Wood part of my success. You don't realize till you leave how much you will miss a place, and I truly feel this with Wood.
