Senior: Bio-Med is a great school. They create a community of high schoolers that is unmatched. We become like a family even with the pandemic stealing a full year of our school. We are a project-based school which is helpful in readying us for the world to come. My problem-solving strategies are unmatched in my internship. But the change that I would want to see is going back to the old ways. BioMed has changed in the time that my class has been here. We used to focus on the class being a class together. Senior: The students are, for the most part, good people. The teachers work hard and care deeply about their students, and building administrators are passionate and approachable. Unfortunately, the district administration is dysfunctional and the community continually refuses to fund the schools. Levy after levy has failed, leaving Crestwood in a dire financial situation. The Academy program, an interdisciplinary experiential class, is the crown jewel of the High School, and recently built an aquaponics greenhouse! AP classes offer students opportunities to push themselves, but options are limited and often result in schedule conflicts since most courses only run during one period. Parent: We initially visited Hudson Montessori School as an education option for our gifted son when he was in kindergarten, with every intention of sending our other children to the local public school...but we quickly fell in love with the teachers, learning style, and community-minded atmosphere. Everyone in the school knows my family, and I feel that they truly care about my children. Our kids have received a wonderful education thus far (now in our 6th year at the school) and are able to follow their passions and truly love learning and going to school every day.... Parent: St. Joan of Arc has truly been a blessing for our family. We explored many private school options in the area, and ultimately fell in love with this tiny school in our own backyard! Our oldest daughter will be entering 4th grade for the ‘22-‘23 school year. She has had amazing teachers these past 4 years, who care not only about the students on a personal and academic level, but also bring a spirituality with them every single day into the classroom. Her class is so close, loving, and are a true family. My younger daughter is entering 1st grade, and is thriving in the academic and spiritual environment that surrounds her daily. The staff are the hardest working professionals that you can find, and have come to mean so much to my kids. We are so excited every year for all the things our school offers, from the maker’s space, to parent volunteer opportunities, to educational and spiritual growth.
