Parent: The teachers are awesome! They care about the students and want to see them excel. While there have been some highs challenges, overall the Riverhead High School is a great school for students who want to learn and be academically challenged. The school has many AP classes that students can take and many sports options. Many clubs and activities to choose from. The music department is also wonderful. Senior: I have a very strong relationship with my teachers and the rest of the staff, though many of the students lack motivation and act inappropriately. Being in the IB Programme, I am not in class with many other people, though the behavior creates an atmosphere of apathy, where education is not perceived as a priority. Aside from some students, my experience is amazing. I have been supported in creating many community service projects, and any viable idea from a student is given permission. For example, I created Team Center Moriches to attend the Tunnel 2 Towers 5K in 2021, and I am currently involved in developing a future greenhouse on school property. With the IB Programme, I feel that my education is valued and that I have been given many opportunities, but the apathetic atmosphere created by some students is certainly a downfall.... Senior: I love my school only because of the Floyd academy. Floyd academy is another school inside the school. It’s for kids with anxiety and social problems, including kids that have exceeding grades to were they can graduate early same with kids who don’t have many credits they help to get you on track in no time. The teachers are amazing they are really like family. We recently just decorated our side of the school with paper snowflakes and chains hanging from the ceiling let me tell you…that was a lot of paper but the teamwork and leadership portrayed was what makes Floyd academy what it is the place to be yourself but learn to be with a team and grow yourself in the process to. Senior: As a graduating senior at Eastport South Manor Junior Senior Highschool I truly feel I have reached my full potential here. Ever since I first stepped off the bus and into the doors of this school I have received nothing but support and respect from every teacher I had. The teaches and staff at Eastport South Manor respect students and are truly involved and connected to their students inside and outside the classroom. Challenging classes and experiences have prepared me for life outside high school; and the variety of sports and clubs offered has given students to create relationships that will last a lifetime. Freshman: I am currently attending rcs and I love it the education you get there is great the only down side is they don’t have many clubs yet. They have many cultural celebrations which is great so every student can feel inclusive. Parent: My sons have attended PCS since 2015, and it is--without a doubt--the best decision we could have made. My spouse and I are both professors (English and science), and we value our sons' education deeply. But here's the thing: What we love about PCS is not only the robust, hands-on, immersive academic learning experiences but also the way PCS teaches critical social, emotional, and interpersonal skills. Our children's minds are growing, and their hearts are growing. They are learning to use their intelligence to do good things for others. We believe that education should transform lives and transform communities, and we have seen in a myriad of ways, large and small, that PCS fully believes this too. I love this school so much, I've long been an active member of the Family Association and diversity & social justice committee, among other things at PCS. Alum: This is the school that changed my life. As a high school student, taking BOCES my junior and senior year was a amazing experience and made the pathway to my future clear. This school provides interesting areas of studies like art design, culinary, video production and many more. These classes are designed to get students a feel for their area of study and to prepare them for the working world. The staff is excellent, and they want their students to excel and truly learn in their field. Teachers are not only teachers, but with their years of experience and expertise in their fields it’s easy to see why the 5 star rating will always define ESBOCES for me.
