Senior: I have had an excellent experience at St. John’s Prep. Although I have experienced many challenges, the school has done an excellent job in preparing me for college. Additionally, I have felt that the school guides its students every step of the way, which instills a sense of confidence in all of us. The school culture is great. Although we are a sports powerhouse, the school does a good job at promoting other aspects of student involvement, such as drama productions. Parent: APH is a great school that cares about the students, their education and emotional wellbeing. Still somewhat new, they’re carving their path to be among one of the best. We love the all girl education. When looking at the school, it wasn’t on our radar - having now experienced it, our daughter prefers it, saying it relieves so many social pressures. Other things we love about APH are - hands on learning, ability to teach outside the classroom, community service projects, small class sizes, daily advisory with support from teachers and knowing they care about our daughter. The girls have the ability to shine, be themselves, be heard and learn the importance of standing up for what you believe. Senior: This is a great school. It's a really close and tight-knit community because of its smaller size. The teachers really help the students out as much as possible, and the school really tries to push the students to perform their best academically. There are plenty of ways that students can get help if they are struggling including two after-school academies during the week, and one on Saturday. Senior: I am a rising senior girl and I have attended Malden Catholic since my freshman year. I started freshman year at my local public school, but in search of harder classes and more opportunities, I transferred to MC. And I firmly believe I found just what I was looking for. While it is true that my class is only the second girls class to go through the girls side, MC has treated us well. The classes are engaging and rigorous and are preparing us well for college. In fact, AP classes are offered since freshamn year. Our athletics are also very strong. This past school year we had several teams make it to championships and finals. In fact, our boys varsity basketball team won the state championships. One opportunity I engaged in this past year was the XBSS retreat which is a 4-5 day retreat in Connecticut in which 7 students represent the school, grow spiritually, and advance there leadership skills. Senior: Mystic Valley is an amazing school that offers challenging academics while also providing a plethora of resources when you need extra support. The smaller classes really allows for students to meet with teachers one-on one when struggling, and Ms. Wei in the college counseling department helps us with anything from time management to major/minor decision help. Senior: The school is amazing in terms of education. The teachers are always there to help support you when you need help. Although, students at Excel Academy Charter School take initiative to talk to teachers when they need help. Especially, on that certain thing that they are confused on. They offer tons of sports at Excel Academy like the wrestling team which both pushes you physically and mentally, and the other sports like volleyball or basketball. Senior: This school is definitely unique. Each shop gives you opportunities to learn trade skills and do fun things at school! I'm in equine science and we learn a lot about taking care of horses and other animals at our barn. The facilities are amazing, it's really more of a campus than a school. The main thing that I really don't like here is that arts and music curriculum are seriously lacking. There's no opportunity to take those classes unless you choose Design and Visuals as a shop, or go to the clubs. Also, with the school adding more and more new freshmen every year, classrooms are pretty full and we're close to or over capacity I think. There are also less AP classes than other schools if that's important to you (I think we have 7 in total for options). But overall I would highly recommend checking this school out!... Senior: My experience at Lynn Classical high school was definitively a good one. Besides it going by fast, high school is something Ill never forget. It helped me make so many life long friends that for sure Ill still talk to in the future. Classical was also great with their sports teams, they really got their things together and the kids did as well to be great! But, on the other hand one thing I'd change at classical is the learning environment. No one really learns people just relax in school and let the days just drag by. Teachers being lazy as well. Senior: Because Lynn tech is a vocational school, they will focus on your trade! Academics are still an important part of the school, yet they make it very manageable.
