Niche User: I wish the county had more money to fund more resources the elementary school needs for kids. The teachers and staff are great to work with and a great environment for the kids. They always have special events that students and parents can come too after school hours like science fairs, wax museums, or art night. Great sports and coaches too. Parent: The school is in a safe area and the staff presses the importance of safety. The class sizes for my child have been 20 or fewer kids per class the last 3 years that my child has been there. Because the school is so small, all the teachers know pretty much all of the kids. There is something for everyone! Senior: Loretto High School is small in size and student body. Everyone knows everyone, and close friendships are easy to make. The only downside to the size of the school is the relationships teachers and staff create with the wealthy, well-known students. Some of the things ruled by the adults are made to benefit the wealthy/well-known, while leaving the outcasts to be outcasts. Junior: Summertown High School is one of the best places to learn from. From the many arts and literature programs to the athletics to the band, Summertown High School will always be held dear to my heart. Our school population, however, is very dense and increasing for our school size. Many attempts have been made to construct a new school nearby to solve this problem, yet, with lack of funding, our new school has been pushed further and further from our reach. In order for Summertown High School to be more successful, we must first address this issue of size. Niche User: My siblings and I were previous students of Ingram Sowell Elementary School. While I was a student here, the school focused more on preparing students for middle school and high school, rather than college. However, by time my siblings attended the school, college preparation was also a stressed subject. Many of the teachers that I remember were very kind and compassionate about their jobs, they really enjoyed teaching the new generation. In most standards, Ingram Sowell wouldn't be said as "diverse". However, one must take in the setting of the school. In the rural south, most of the students are natives of the area... therefore are either white or black. There were not many Asian-American students who attended the school, and the school itself was predominately white.
