Sophomore: I am extremely grateful to PA. Coming from a lower income background, Andover has opened doors and introduced me to countless opportunities. I’ve been able to gain new passions, such as running and activism, and practice my old ones under incredible instruction and with access to fantastic resources. My only issue with the school is that it’s an incredibly stressful environment for 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 year old students - meaning students are handling both normal teenage stress (pertaining to popularity or pop culture), along with the stress of elite college admissions. There’s not much done by the administration to combat this, meaning students have to tackle it themselves, resulting in people getting overwhelmed, and sometimes leaving the school. However, most of us stick it out, but at what cost? All in all, I would recommend Andover if you’re someone who feels as if your current environment is too restricting and you want to broaden your horizons and meet new people.... Read 168 reviews

Parent: We currently have 2 children ages 6 & 8 at the Lower School. We couldn't be happier with the Teachers, Administration, Volunteers, and total Community at BCA! Our Kindergartener started reading at 5 years of age after entering the start of the school year not knowing all the letters or sounds. Our 2nd Grader is excelling at reading, math, and takes piano offered at the school! The teacher to student ratio is unmatched and the BCA community is personal, available, and supportive. My children's favorite time of the day (besides recess) is bible study. They cannot get enough of the stories! Teachers are able to give their personal attention to those who need it. When it comes to investing in a high school, the agreement you make to pick a school that will provide you with countless opportunities to succeed, comes with a bargain. It is up to YOU as the student to take advantage of those opportunities. Austin Prep gives every student the tools they need to succeed beyond their community, but it is up to the student if they are willing to put in the effort. Often, the negative comments you'll hear come from those who want everything to be handed to them, rather than the students who come to learn, grow, and genuinely make their community a better place. With that being said, AP provides an environment that gives students the ability to connect with faculty members, themselves, and the world around them. Parent: Both of my boys attend The Birches and have enjoyed it. My boys couldn’t be more different. One is really into sports and the other enjoys D&D at the after school program. Both have learned the ukulele and the oldest is now playing the drums. They are challenged with public speaking from a young age during the school’s weekly gathering, forest forum, where all grades get together. The art program is great and their projects are frequently integrated with what they are learning in their class. The teachers and administrators are excellent. When Covid hit they were ready and we didn’t miss a day of school. It did take some time to adjust and they constantly worked at improving their approach to remote learning but they had a plan on day one. I would recommend The Birches to anyone... Read 9 reviews

Parent: Exceptional! After a number of discouraging school experiences, we found Sparhawk. Our primary concern is having a safe, inclusive, caring environment - Sparhawk absolutely provides a level of attention AND intention that goes above and beyond. They have navigated the COVID situation with transparency and concern, providing resources and focusing on the needs of our children. The curriculum draws from diverse sources, providing robust and engaging project-based learning. The school has a progressive set of values, a credo, that reflects the values of the school and the community it strives to create and maintain. When our child has struggled, he has found multiple outlets for support, from his classroom teacher all the way to the head of school. I feel confident he is learning to to strive and grow because he feels cared for and listened to. Senior: Whittier Tech was one of the best decisions I made. I was able to take classes like Criminal Justice and Biotech Forensics and My trade in Autobody & Repair course was amazing. The staff are very nice and helpful and if you play sports like I did Football is my life. My parents and Admin/ teachers are very close, and my mom can call at any time, and she gets the respect or whatever issue handled in a professional and timely manner. Alum: I think Greater Lawrence is taking important strides to improve the quality of learning for their students. It has been seen with the installments of new bathroom accommodations as well as the new and exciting shops the freshman get to choose from every year. While the new accommodations to the bathrooms are exciting and greatly appreciated, they cannot be fully taken advantage of due to the fact that at least one stall in every bathroom has a broken stall door. Greater Lawrence also makes sure to provide eager students the opportunities to grow and progress themselves. Still, that opportunity is only given to the students who are not afraid to advocate for themselves. a 16-year-old student who is interested in their future shouldn't have to send 3 emails and cc a higher-up individual when their needs are not being met. Alum: The Arts Academy of New Hampshire overall provided a very nurturing and supportive environment. It allowed students of any art and interest to flourish and grow within their studies and their own learning paths that they chose. The school provided various opportunities for each student. One of the only downfalls of the school is due to the current size, there isn’t always enough classrooms for the classes that students are asking for. If the school got a larger building and a larger staff a lot of these scheduling problems would be solved. However, the best parts of The Arts Academy of New Hampshire is how every art had several performances, field trips, and honors societies to help students grow even more than just in the classroom setting. The academics are also challenging and push students in their learning, and the testing scores rank higher than several of the nearby schools. Niche User: Although I have only spent one year in Lawrence High School, it was one of my best experiences in my life so far! The Teachers and Staff are very helpful to students because, they push them to earn good grades. However, Lawrence High and many schools in Lawrence public school, doesn’t get as much funding compared to other schools in Massachusetts. In result, Students are not able to get more resources they need due to lack of funding. Moreover, Lawrence High is full of strong will and passionate students and staff who both work hard. Senior: Nashoba Tech is one of those schools you walk into everyday knowing that you are supported and can be whoever you want to be. When you think tech school you automatically assume that we students aren’t as smart as our town classmates, because we only go to academics every other week. I completely disagree we are cramming in twice as much academic work in, as well as putting full time effort into setting ourselves up to succeed in the future. As an Early Childhood student our on campus child care facility isn’t open due to covid restrictions so I have a full time job in my field to make sure I get every credit and graduate high school with my early childhood certification.
