Senior: My favorite thing about Raisbeck Aviation High School is the diversity and the resources that my teachers provide. Their are kids from all over the area whether they live on an island or right in the school area. They are all welcome here. I see kids from from so many cultures and environments in school, but no matter the differences we all get along. And if someone is being picked on then they are free to tell a teacher and that teacher will help them work it out. At Raisbeck, the students are given so many opportunities to expand their minds and hearts. And our teachers are a great recourses to go to. Just ask for help on anything that a student might me having trouble with and they will answer any questions you may have. And if they specifically don't have that answer then they will direct you to another recourse that will. Here at my school everyone is welcome here. We have clubs and activities to join. Parent: Here's what sold us on Kennedy Catholic. Open house, walking toward the front door, and two students greeted us with a "hello" and actually engaged us in conversation! Teenagers! Engaging, polite! This school is known for their rigor, standards, and expectations for excellence. But, what you'll discover along the journey is more than grades - this is a community of dedicated staff and students who support and encourage each other like we've never seen. It means something special to be a Lancer. They stick together. They look out for each other - including Lancer alum. Go here and your kid will get into any university they want... but, perhaps more importantly, they will create friendships and develop values that will also help them succeed in life. Alum: Auburn Adventist Academy is a great place where kids have opportunities to be involved in ways they might not be able to be in public school. They have an amazing music program, and the staff there are very friendly. I would recommend the academy to anyone who wants to experience a smaller, but tight knit, high school experience. Parent: 2 years in and we could not be happier. Most teachers here are very seasoned. They hold authority with compassion and discernment. We've done some serious searching before landing here at PCA. We continue to make sure this is where we want to continue and we have not found a school that surpasses our high standards. I can personally attest that the admin group here is extremely passionate regarding the growth both academically and spiritually for these students. Any issue or concern we've had has immediately been addressed. The constant validation and support they give is why we will remain here with our full support. Also, I have observed that when there has been safety issues in other schools, PCA immediately steps up and makes sure they are doing everything they can to keep these kids, our most valuable treasure, safe.... Niche User: When my granddaughters enrolled as kindergarteners at Kent View Christian Elementary, I was a little hesitant. As a previous public school educator, I wanted an excellent, robust academic curriculum and did not want their education overpowered by Christian doctrine. They are now in 2nd and 5th grade, respectively, and they are getting a great, well-rounded education while learning Christian values. Alum: My experience at Tahoma was filled with transformative moments. Teachers played a significant role, like my French teacher who showed kindness by checking on me when I was quiet one day. My senior year math teacher's positive attitude created a welcoming environment where I could appreciate math. My 9th-grade teacher remembered my brother and me later in 12th grade, demonstrating genuine care. Classes at Tahoma allowed me to explore new interests and connect with others. Marine Biology sparked my passion for biology, influencing my college major of biology. AP 3D Art introduced me to sculpting and led me to a close friend. It also helped me become more outgoing. In Video Production, I voiced ideas and gave feedback. While my experience was overwhelmingly positive, restroom closures were a drawback, though I know it was due to vandalism. Parent: Summit has been a godsend to my family. We have two sons there, boys who couldn't be more different from each other but who have both benefited enormously. One son has hyperactive ADHD and a lot of anxiety which has caused him to act out a lot, habitually break rules and get in trouble. Summit's staff and faculty have been compassionate and, when necessary, firm. After he'd pushed the line one too many times, he faced having to leave the school; once this happened he turned his behavior around because he knew there was nowhere else he'd rather be. Our other son is sensitive, gifted, and neurodivergent. He has developed affectionate relationships with many of his teachers and feels seen and appreciated. After a terrible public school experience, he had gone to a small private middle school for gifted kids and couldn't imagine liking any other school - especially public school - as much. Senior: The best part about the school was the school spirit. I really like how students take their time to dress themselves up during spirit weeks and participate to the school spirit by yelling out our school and class chants during assemblies. The worst part of my experience was the school’s bathroom problem. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst but I think it could be better. There was a problem about how some students don’t use the bathroom correctly and so they had to close the bathrooms and only opened one. I don’t really like this solution because sometimes the bathroom can be very packed, which can lead me to be late to my class. Freshman: This school is amazing for anyone looking for a rigorous college prep school. The only downside to this is that it has zero sports or physical education, which may not be a downside for some people. Alum: Although I am biased, this is hands-down one of the best high/college prep schools in Washington. The science teachers prioritize very rigorous, 2-grades-ahead-level curriculum and drill the scientific and Socratic methods into students (very enriching). The humanities department is no-nonsense and navigates through all of American history in delightful and impartial ways. There is also a VERY STRONG expectation that students begin Running Start after grade 10--in fact, the graduating class is grade 10, so don't be deceived by the vague descriptions. Homework discussions are mandatory and one-on-one study sessions are very common, especially after school. As you can see, there is almost nothing to dislike about the school.
