Alum: I am an alum of the class of 2021. I attended Episcopal for 7 years. I switched from Episcopal from a highly rated public school. The facilities at Episcopal are unmatched by other high schools both academic and athletic. While the facilities are unbelievable, Episcopal is made special by the of the staff of the students. Everything I experienced at Episcopal was amazing with the exception of the administration. The administration does not think through a lot of decisions and is not respected by the students and a lot of parents because of the incompetence. Other than the current administration tearing down what previous administrations have built alongside a great community of students and alumni, the school is unmatched by any high school in the area and a lot of universities.... Senior: Attending Baton Rouge Magnet High School has allowed me ample opportunity to make a name for myself on a national level in terms of having the necessary resources available to strengthen my academic merit status. Attending a school with students from all over the globe with a mixture of socioeconomic backgrounds, religious beliefs, genders, and ethnicities was an absolute privilege. The diversity displayed at this school has opened my eyes to the beauty cloaked under humanity's differences. The teachers devote their time outside of the designated class period in order to help students master a topic that they have difficulty understanding, and for that, I couldn't be more grateful. Senior: Catholic High is a great school, in my experience I played lacrosse and participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes club. As a lacrosse player we have gone to state twice and we won state last year. I have had many great experiences at Catholic High School but nothing compares to the attention you get as a student from the teachers and faculty. Senior: I have been at Uhigh for 13 years and I have made a lot of great friends and memories! I love my teachers, however, some of them are a little strict over the dress code. Besides my friends, I will miss my teachers the most! I made the best bonds with them and I feel like I can go to them for anything! They care about their students! Your work ethic has to be very strong and high to go here, but it’s worth it in the end because I will have 18 credits when I go to college! I am involved in 10 different fun, welcoming clubs and I am on the women’s soccer team! The Laboratory School provides a lot of opportunities for their students as well. Seniors have the option of getting out of school at 12:40, which is really helpful when there are college applications due. One thing I would acknowledge Uhigh to invest in would be a bigger school parking lot. Some people are unable to find parking when they get to school at a reasonable time. Parent: My daughter had been attending this school since she was 2 years old. I've seen how far she had grown in knowledge and structure thanks to the teaching staff. The teachers are very sweet and patient when helping out with different subjects. Not to mention, the website is very resourceful given that it provides information for each grade level segment. Each time I had a question regarding extracurricular activities, events and enrollment, I got a quick response in the clear way possible. My daughter will be graduating from Pre-K in two months and there are not enough words to describe how thankful I am that the overall assessment of this school is excellent! Parent: McKinley Middle Magnet is a solid choice for middle school. They offer a wide variety of programs in the arts such as theater, dance, painting, piano, music, etc. They also have a rigorous academic curriculum with advanced courses offered in Science and Math. The McKinley has a very rich culture. They are also one of the few middle schools in the region that encourages international travel. Senior: I transferred to St. Micheal High School in 2020. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made. During my time at St. Michael, I played many sports and participated in clubs and the arts. The academics here are exceptional. Before transferring, I never knew what education I was missing out on. St. Micheal has one of the best academic programs and excellent teachers support who support it. During my time at St. Michael, I made many lifelong friends and memories. One thing that I would like to see changed is the arts programs. The arts programs have great potential but need more support from the school and money. But, overall, St. Michael is a wonderful school that I would highly recommend to anyone! The academics, staff, and students are outstanding and make every day at school delightful. Senior: My experience as a Madison prep charger will forever be a life changing experience that I would never forget. Down to the teachers, the students, and other staff members who helped me achieve my success today. The campus is very diverse, and nobody is looked at differently or judged by their looks, but are judged by the content of their character.Growing up continuing through my school career I struggled with testing anxiety, and sometimes social anxiety. My mountain I'm still trying to overcome is the infamous Act test. I've studied for this test day and night until I couldn't study any more. Madison Prep has helped me accomplish A few months later I was accepted into the prestigious Dillard University in New Orleans. My educational goal is to receive a masters in psychology.
