Alum: I graduated from Christ School in 2021. Christ School was an excellent place for me to grow as a student, athlete, and person. The academics are challenging, but the faculty will do whatever it takes in order to help you succeed. The athletics department is superb, and there is are a wide variety of sports/activities available. There is also something always happening on campus for students to join in, whether it be dorm wars or a residential life event. There are also a variety of off campus trips/activities that are most often provided at no extra cost. Senior: I loved my time at the Early College. I chose to go to HCEC because I wanted an academic push, and I knew that a traditional high school would not provide the kind of education that I wanted. I was able to take many high level college classes, and discover a passion for STEM. Without it, I probably would not be majoring in what I am now. The staff are not only caring adults, but also friends of the students. Not only did I get to build meaningful relationships with the staff at the high school, but at the Community College as well. Many of my college professors during my time at HCEC have had just as much (if not sometimes more) influence on my life as the high school staff. Senior: Although transferring from a 4 class per semester schedule to a 7 class per year schedule was very rough on my mental and emotional health, I don’t think I would have enjoyed my junior year without Hendersonville’s community. There’s many great things about the traditions at this school as well as fun/loving teachers who you can easily click with once you get settled in. Parent: I have two kiddos that started school this year at Brevard Academy and they are absolutely thriving! Throughout the years my kids have tried home school, public school, and even private school. Brevard Academy has by far been our best experience. The staff are all incredible and care deeply about the kids. My daughter's school anxiety went from severe (after a bad experience at a private school) to non-existent. Senior: At first I was really intimidated by the idea of attending high school. I had pictured strict teachers, impossible assignments, etc. However when I arrived I quickly discovered that I couldn't have been more wrong. The school was small but had so many kind/talented people (both teachers and classmates). They provided me with help and assistance whenever I needed it. My peers worked with me whenever I was having trouble understanding a part of the curriculum and made sure I wasn't left behind.
