Alum: At Groton, I feel that I have been able to become a more independent and conscientious person during my time at this school. The best thing about this school is the resources that it provides the students. Here, I feel that I can be whoever I like because the teachers, dorm parents, coaches, and community is supportive of everyone's quirks, interests, and dreams. The teachers are approachable and dedicated, and work hard to provide students with a positive experience and I have made some of the truest and most diverse background friends. However, while at my time here, I have noticed that there is a toxically competitive culture here. Moreover, sometimes it is hard to get leadership positions in clubs because one has to be "connected" or popular, and the unsafe hook-up culture NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED! Junior: I LOVE CA! As a current day student, I don’t have many regrets about my choice to go CA. The academics are manageable but rigorous, super friendly community, and most teachers really put in an effort to connect with students. CA is centered around common trust basically meaning that we all have trust in each other and put effort to foster a community. With that said, that is the case about 90% of the time. I’ve had a couple negative experiences with teachers and students who simply just don’t adhere to the common trust. For instance, I’ve a couple of teachers who just didn’t put in any effort to support me or my unique learning. Other than those few experiences, I have nothing but positive feedback for CA.... Parent: Great experience despite Covid. School did a great job continuing with higher education practices while in person and over Zoom. Parent: My son has had an incredibly positive experience at Lawrence Academy. The teachers are wonderful and nurturing; and the advisor program encourages involvement and good study habits. Lawrence Academy is a community rich with actives; arts and music, athletics, clubs, charitable events as well as leadership opportunities. The staff and administration are continually providing many different ways for students to become involved, promoting the diverse interests of all the students. By joining the soccer team his freshman year, my son made lots of great friends very quickly, both other freshman and upper class-men. He has found LA to be a warm and welcoming environment. Lawrence is a great balance of academics, activities and community. I'm so thankful to have found this perfect place for my son to grow and develop throughout his high school years. Alum: I loved the people, and the education itself was incredible. I was challenged and supported academically in order to better succeed in college. I loved the teachers, and their willingness to help you in any way they could really was apparent. As an alumni now, I am proud to say that I went to such a well rounded school, and their initiatives to promote diversity and empowerment really added to my takeaways, and experience as a whole. One thing that I did not love about Bromfield was that it was often strict and biased on expectations. For example, we had a dress code that was often only directed towards female students. Additionally, if you were a star student or athlete, you were often exempt from punishment or rules, or had a slap on the wrist, whereas for anyone else, the consequences would have been much greater. Alum: I graduated in 2021, and I am able to confidently convey that Saint Johns was both the best choice of High School for me, but also the single most important 4 years of my youth for my academic and moral development as a young man. Sophomore: Good school, very accepting community. The way they teach and involve students in discussions is very good for taking in information and learning important information. The curriculum, although less complex, allows for space for other time, consuming things in students lives. Such as sports, social life, are many other things. classes involving math and science are very hands on, allowing students hands-on experience with things that they may choose to pursue it in life. In certain cases, such as myself, biology is a large part of the science aspect of class, allowing practice for things like lab reports and observational skills, as well, as practice with tools that will be used waiter in wife, such as a microscope, pipettes, and different methods of transferring DNA samples or bacterial samples for experimentation. Senior: Trivium is a small school of about 75 students, but because it is so small, it is one of the greatest. Every student has an opportunity to encounter the great works of history, from Euclid's beautifully logical proofs to Longfellow's masterful poetry. The students are pressed in friendly competition on the athletic field or in the classroom through the kind of friendships that can only grow in an atmosphere like Trivium's that fosters love of learning and a deep respect for fellow students. Alum: I graduated from Douglas in 2020. Overall it was a fun seven years of my life, but I didn't learn much. I started there in Kindergarten and ended in 6th grade. I can't say the academics were horrible, because I learned a few things, but I was never "challenged." There was minimal homework to back up what we learned, which didn't help much with the fact that we were there to learn. I liked most of my teachers. My favorite experiences were in 5th and 6th grade. In 5th grade for our exhibitions, my class created a website called the "Team 5 Times." Another one of my favorite 5th-grade projects was the Oregon Trail. We turned our desks and tables into wagons, used power tools, and made our own games. (I made a geyser and helped with the Oregon Trail game). My favorite 6th-grade moments were Nature's Classroom (a 3-day overnight field trip) and our class play. Middle School Student: I would say that the teachers I've had at McCarthy-Towne have been overall good. Since I am graduating this year (6th Grade) I'll have been going there for four years. My first teacher (3rd Grade) was very nice and welcoming, so was my second but in 5th grade my teacher was really mean and controlling. This year they are preparing us for Jr. High so we have two "main" teachers who are both really nice in their own ways. One thing I dislike about the school is the food, if you are considering sending your child her make sure to pack their lunch! Another is the fact that they don't really prepare you for the Jr. High in the sense that there is barely any homework. Overall a good school though.... Read 1 review

Parent: My three children have been attending SLA for five years now. The school feels like family! All the teachers know and engage with my children, even if they haven't had them in their class. Because it's a small school the students get lots of one-on-one instruction and all can participate in sports or music, not just the top 10%. My kids are participating in the honors program and are on track to attend competitive universities--I attribute much of that to the extra attention they get. Alum: Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School is awesome. Four years ago when I applied I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to attend but it ended up being the best decision. The academics are rigorous. You have to work hard because you only attend academic classes every other week because you go to your shop the alternate week. The shops are all amazing and very competitive to get into. During your Freshman year you do 5 months of exploratory in which you get to spend a week in a different shop up to 12 that you listed for preferences. Later that year you are placed in one of the shops you ranked based on your scores from that shop week. That is the shop you will be in for the rest of your time there so you are able to form good relationships with your teachers and classmates. My health occupation friends are my closest friends I made at school. Monty Tech also offers great sports and clubs for you to be a part of.
