Parent: An excellent Christian private school. For a small school, it offers an amazing diversity of challenging academics/APs for college prep but also student support. The motto is that students come first, and every student is known and loved. The administration aims to support struggling students, & that academic and mental health support been especially important at this time. At the very start of the pandemic, while other schools were scrambling to transition to virtual learning or independent study projects, PacBay seamlessly moved learning online over the course of a weekend. The administration did a great job researching and planning. Students attended classes on campus one day, and smoothly transitioned online the next week to minimize learning loss. As restrictions loosened, and vaccinations rose, the school's done a wonderful job re-opening the campus safely. Parent: We have one child who graduated and one child who is still at Carey. If we had to make the choice again on which elementary school to send our children to, we would not hesitate in sending them to Carey again. The entire experience has been positive. The administration and teachers are amazing individuals that really care about the children and are always looking at ways to improve themselves and their teaching methods. The facilities are top notch and the teacher to student ratio allows the teachers to really know each child. The open communication and responsiveness to issues addresses any issues that arise. Academics is not as rigorous as some other schools, but it allows the children to grow in other areas. Community is a huge part of The Carey experience as well. The families of the children are present and invested in their children's lives and are great role models. They are also very fun! Parent: Our family has been active Sea Crest community members for a few years now and we couldn't be more pleased with the community, support, and programs the school provides. My children look forward to going to school every day and are thriving! The administration, teachers, and staff are knowledgable and warm-hearted. This school has become a perfect second home to our children. We are grateful to the community for the inviting and welcoming spirit, and the rich learning our children are experiencing. The Head of School is welcoming and determined to make Sea Crest the best it can be. She is invested in the school's community and has made monumental positive changes for the betterment of the students. Parent: Excellent community of families and staff. Science and Technology are strong areas of curriculum. Teachers willing to help and assist students when they have questions. Good Shepherd School is located on the coast with beautiful weather and views. CYO offers girls volleyball, boys basketball and girls basketball throughout the school year.
