Junior: The Summit Country Day School is a private catholic school in Cincinnati, Ohio. It functions with five primary pillars: spiritual, academic, athletic, artistic, and and social. It also has a prevalent character program in which each grade is assigned multiple character traits which they are encouraged to embody by faculty and activities. I started coming here in 7th grade due to the wonderful experience I had on my shadow day. The Summit has excellent resources for both general education and preparing you for life beyond the classroom. The teachers are dedicated to providing the best education possible, and we have facilities such as a makers space and a sports complex. All of the teachers are both highly qualified and passionate about their jobs. We also have things like an anatomy table and new computers for student use. Senior: Saint Xavier has a very driven environment that brings the best out of everyone there, whether in academics, sports, fine arts, community service, or other extracurricular activities. They have done a great job of building the necessary support systems and resources for students in need for financial aid and academic support and tutoring. Next, with the various different classes that students can take best suited to their abilities, everyone is adequately challenged to help foster growth within all the young men at the school. While Saint Xavier encourages excellence in all areas of life, it is okay to need help because of the welcoming and understanding environment that has been developed. Senior: I loved Ursuline Academy because of the loving and welcoming community. The environment with all girls creates a strong sisterhood were everyone is comfortable being themselves. Its mentality is putting peoples best work forward and always trying to improve the next time. The teachers are friendly and kind and want to make sure all their students understand their work. Our complex schedule definitely gets us ready for college with making sure that we have good time management skills. Of course there are areas that the school could improve on such as reaching out to be more diverse instead of an all white school. The food could be better with all the money that gets put into the school, and some of the equipment for sports teams and theater could be replaced. Overall, it is a great school with a intense focus on academics and leadership in the community where everyone can find there place at this school. Parent: My son moved to Schilling for high school from a rigorous private school where he never felt understood despite his high IQ. Now, he is a different child. He loves school again and thrives under the exceptionally qualified and caring teachers and staff. They go above and beyond the call of duty to challenge my son in his areas of strength and to help him overcome his areas of weakness. At Schilling, he is completing college level courses easily and loving every minute of it! His ninth grade Biology book was the exact same one my older son used in college, so I know he will not only be prepared for college but will excel there. The school administration deals fairly and efficiently with any problems that arise in a way that teaches the kids to solve or avoid future issues. Parent: Moeller High School has been a perfect fit for our family. We are grateful that our sons are experiencing such a well-balanced high school experience. They are challenged by high level academic classes, participate in sports they are passionate about and have time to build relationships with other students. The House System has really helped them flourish as a part of a community, bringing students of different grade levels together to mentor each other and create bonds with individuals they may not have otherwise gotten to experience. Teachers are thoughtful, approachable and understand what it takes to teach young men. It's not only academics they teach but also life lessons to help these men beyond high school. Moeller has something for everyone - clubs, sports, service, academics, arts, leadership. Moeller is the perfect size - not too big and not too small for this family. Sophomore: I’ve enjoyed my overall experience at MND so far but it has its flaws. It’s good for students who want to explore their interests. As far as I’m aware, MND provides some great programs for sports, arts, performing arts, and more. Classes are also pretty good! I take almost entirely honors classes, and I think the teachers effectively teach for the most part and genuinely care about their students. The food is delicious, uniforms are comfortable, resources are useful, it does most things pretty well. But I think one of MND’s weakest points is it’s administration. They aren’t…terrible but they can sometimes be very passive aggressive and can handle situations poorly. (ex/homophobia, racism, etc.) Not the worst but many students, including myself, have been left disappointed more than once by them. Some student can also be pretty judgmental and ignorant, but the student body is fairly diverse, so there’s always a fair chance of meeting a group of great friends here!... Read 187 reviews

Senior: I love Seton High school – from the teachers to the students to the challenging curriculum. Seton integrates compassion into their teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons. The administration is open minded and thinks outside the box to make Seton a successful educational experience for the students. Seton is committed to the whole child. They teach value lessons, communication and leadership skills. There isn't much I would change about Seton academically. Alum: Mercy McAuley was my home for two wonderful years. I originally went to McAuley, but after my sophomore year they announced the new school. During the first two years, they had a lot of problems to work out. However, as a school community we came together and fixed the issues that required our attention. I wouldn't change my experience for the world. My teachers all truly cared about me and I met some amazing friends along the way. Overall, Mercy McAuley offers interesting classes you won't be able to find anywhere else as well as extra-curriculars to fit anyone's interests. I was personally involved in the Women Lead program which is the reason I chose to be a nurse. I was also involved in Vocal Ensemble and the theatre department, both which gave me once in a lifetime experiences and memories I will cherish forever - and I know it will for you too!... The teachers, counselors, and staff will provide the help you need to ensure you get accepted to college. The teachers challenge you and while they provide a workload of homework (depending on the teacher), they help you understand the concepts.
