Junior: I have had a great experience at Dowling so far. They have so many ways to get involved including many different clubs and groups. Most teachers care about each student and their education, and I have had many teachers use their free time to help me in their classes. Dowling holds all of their students to a high standard. Personally, I enjoy the dress code because it takes away the possibility for bullying based on clothes. There are many different classes you can take here at Dowling, choosing what courses you would like to advance your studies in. Parent: Summit is a great school and really pushes the kids to learn with great support with the exception of one teacher, Michelle Jordan (science) she is a bully to the kids and likes to pretend to be the school cop. My home is a place where lotd of the neighborhood kids come to visit and play with my son. They ALL have had issues with her and complain that she has a bad attitude. Senior: Waukee High School has been a great place for me to grow and learn. The buildings are clean and well taken care of by amazing staff. Almost all of the teachers care very much about their students. Even the lunch ladies all have connections with the students and they treat us amazingly. I have been successful in all of my classes because of my teachers abilities to help me learn and understand everything they give, some teachers are more hardcore and some are more easygoing, but I have has great results with most. There are a select group of teachers that were not the greatest or most helpful but dealing with them became easier as the classes went on. Through the online learning caused by Covid-19 the school was extremely helpful and understanding of students and their needs through a stressful time. Senior: Ankeny Christian Academy welcomed me with a warm smile into their school. This excellent school helped me further my walk with God. Senior: The school has recently gotten more diversity with more students being of different races and backgrounds which is a good thing. Many of the students are respectful towards other students aside from a few but for the most part, everyone keeps to themselves and doesn’t look for trouble. Fights have begun to slowly arise in the school as there were none duing my first two years which has been a bit of a nuisance. Teachers from my experience have been respectful towards me and other students. Some teachers can teach better than others but for the most part, it’s pretty average in that regard....
