Parent: Our daughter is finishing her freshman year. First child at ELHS. We are thrilled with the level of Christ-center education and overall learning. There are ample sports available and being a smaller school, the ability to participate is excellent at every skill level. The staff is terrific and it's a great campus for the smaller student body to expand into over time. There are pros/cons to big public vs small private. I went to a huge public (Puyallup HS) and Evergreen is a much better Christian environment with tougher academics for my children. We intend to have both children graduate from ELHS. Junior: I am currently a junior at Emerald Ridge and love the school! I will first the about the staff, many of them grew up or are from the area and have been teaching at the school for years. In addition they are very involved and truly want the best for everybody. The counselors at the school are amazing and great at helping you get to that next level by keeping you on track and showing how many options you really have. Now talking about the students, there are so many different people coming from different back rounds but the school is very inclusive for example the extra clubs to show they really care. Along with this we have lots of school pride this year many students travels across the state to support our jags in the quarter finals for football. Emerald Ridge is such an amazing school and I cannot stress that enough I am blessed to have been able to attend and would recommend this school to anyone.... Read 341 reviews

Junior: I love Orting High School! The goal of the school is to prepare students for college, careers, and life, which is achieved yearly with their wonderful education system and staff. The school offers many classes, including AP courses, clubs, and other extracurricular activities, that get almost all of the students involved. Due to the small size of the school, the students and staff are like one big family, because students are able to build strong relationships with their peers, as well as teachers. This creates a very safe and inclusive learning environment. And while Orting may be small, there is no lack of heart. Senior: I honestly don't think I'd be where I am if not for my teachers and counselors at Walker. Unlike at my other schools, the teachers here are patient and willing to help me. Last year before I transferred, I was failing, now at Walker I'm thriving. I went from D's to straight A's in just the few months that I have been here. Senior: Ok, I LOVE Challenger High School. Growing up, I never held pride in any of my schools--heck, I thought all education in America was hogwash and I was doomed for life. At Challenger I found genuine help, they pointed me in directions I never even thought possible. The graduation project? Straight-forward and to be expected, not some unconventional nonsense. Disciplinary system, unique, but importantly, it WORKS! I've never seen a single fight in my two years here, compared to other schools having up to six fights per day! Junior: Overall it’s a nice community, I’d say the biggest part about success in this school is that you need to advocate for yourself in order to succeed. That doesn’t mean people won’t help you, rather you need to reach out in order to get the help you need. I’ve made so many good memories at this school, and the admins are normally very open with talking with students and being transparent on current school issues. One of the major criticisms is the class schedule, as for my senior year I was unable to take all the classes I wanted due to some of them being in the same period. Overall, I love my school!...
