Parent: We have three kids at Wilson: one going into first grade, the older ones going into 5th and 6th. I honestly don't know where to begin about how amazing Wilson is. The academics are incredibly strong, the class sizes are small, and the teachers are devoted to the kids. The administration is responsive, flexible, and are always ready to meet with parents to discuss anything. But probably the best thing about Wilson is the sense community, of caring. In all our four years at Wilson, we've always felt we were part of a family that was always looking out for us and our children. Not only the faculty and staff, but the other parents, even the families of former Wilson grads, everyone shares the same sense of caring for one another. Alum: I was at Ideaventions from 7th grade through 12th grade, and it was a phenomenal experience. The teachers give high quality, engaging lessons. Roughly half of the classes are project based, even the English classes, something that I think is great when it comes to learning how to work effectively. The engineering classes are all hands on, where the classwork revolves around designing and building systems. The math curriculum is deep and efficient, the teachers present the information in an efficient manner that gets at the core axioms of a concept which us students then extrapolated and implemented in order to solve problems, a method I find to be far superior to the traditional approach of memorizing steps to solve problems. The clubs! These were the best part of the school, and there are all kinds of fun clubs. A few of my favorites were the Naturalist club, Inventor's club, Math Honors Society, Dungeons and Dragons club, and the Sysadmin club. I 100% recommend this school.... Read 12 reviews

Alum: I attended The Williams School (TWS) in Ghent from second to eighth grade. It is without a doubt the most special and most rewarding educational experience I have had throughout my academic career which, to date, spans an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree. Small class sizes foster deep, long-lasting connections with peers, teachers, and other faculty and stimulate creative learning across the board. Faculty at TWS truly go above and beyond for each student and work tirelessly to make sure each student's individual needs are met. Their dedication builds a level of trust in other and in self that further empowers students to be proactive not only in their education, but also in their personal and social development. TWS provides extracurricular opportunities during a pivotal developmental period that, at larger schools, students may frankly not have the opportunity to fully experience (athletics, forensics, music); students are completely immersed.
