Parent: Our family has two children in the Upper School at North Shore and we could not be happier. We have been particularly impressed with quality of instruction and the level of engagement our kids have with their teachers. The administration is committed to recruiting the highest level of instructors, who seem to truly care about each student. The school also emphasizes inclusion and encourages each child to pursue his or her interests, while stretching themselves to try new things. The size of the school allows students to pursue any interest, while feeling a part of a close-knit community. Students at North Shore achieve at the highest level academically, but a healthy balance of other activities are also a part of of the experience.

Senior: New Trier is among the highest performing high schools of the country, however that comes with its downsides. While the teachers and students are incredibly gifted and driven, there is absolutely a significant amount of stress that follows. The pressure at New Trier to succeed at the same level of one's classmates is ever present. Although there is danger in the comparison among students, the staff is wonderfully equipped to tend to each students individual needs. It also tends to be an inclusive environment for students of all abilities, which is unique for most high schools!

High School Junior: The teachers were superb and had the resources to create a great experience. The Gifted/Enrichment program was unbelievably wonderful with passionate teachers who had the highest level degrees and published authors on the subject. The Special Education program gave one-on-one attention to the students who needed help.

Glenbrook Evening High School

Senior: Glenbrook Evening High School is made for students who have a hard time focusing in class when surrounded by many students, or for students who prefer to have a smaller teacher to student ratio in order to have more one on one time with teachers. The teachers make time for each student as well as teach at a pace so that every student understands the lessons and no one is left behind. My experience at Glenbrook Evening has been memorable and has gone by so fast, because my counselor and teachers made school a good experience for all the students it went by faster than I ever thought it would. When I first started attending school here I never realized how much I’d miss it, but now that school is coming to an end it’s hard to leave.
